Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE

I haven't bought a WiiU game in quite some time (Xenoblade Chronicles X) and I was in my fav retro shop yesterday and under the glass I seen this game its the special edition as how it caught my attention was the art work was sideways on the box and at first I thought it was an import which really got me excited. I understand its SMT and Fire Emblem mix of sorts which I do enjoy both of those game series.

Is it worth my time picking this up and and is it good? Yes I Googled it but I like NA members input as they are more honest than some review site etc.

  • I've got about 20 hours in this game, and I like it a lot. If you're at all familiar with the Persona games, it plays like those, with friendly Fire Emblem characters guiding you instead of gods/goddesses/creatures from ancient world mythologies. It's pretty difficult (levels DO matter, as I discovered when 3 level 40 monsters destroyed my level 31 party), and one must choose the abilities given to party members wisely.

It's considerably more light-hearted than Persona, but that doesn't really detract from the game's overall presentation.

If you've got the opportunity to pick the SE up at a reasonable price, do it. It includes a soundtrack sampler, some DLC codes, and a mini-art book. I bought it for the art book alone, which contains neat concept art from manga artist toi8 (who also worked on the character designs for the anime No. 6) and messages from the creators. (Tangent: One of those messages includes a word of thanks to Mr. Iwata, and a small wish that an Iwata Asks for TMS#FE were possible. I think many of us would agree that would have been cool. *warm fuzzies* However, the best we can do now is to play and appreciate the games we love and think we will love, share that appreciation with others, and be kind.)

TL;DR: I think TMS#FE is worth picking up.
  • I bought it last month but I still need to play it.

It seems it takes around 47-49 hours to finish it, which is a bit better than Persona 4 that took me 64 hours to finish and Xenoblade X that took 64-65 hours.
