i tried this with virtuanes and got a .vmv file, which seems to incompatible with everything. anybody suggest a good emulator to make a movie of gameplay? thanks
ok, tried that but the file is .fm2 which is also incompatible with programs. i see a ton of videos on youtube, there must be an emulator that records in .avi or .mpg.
Yeah, read the Help thing in the Emulator I sent you. It works, trust me. I looked long and hard for one as well.
You gotta record the movie on the emulator type file. Then you replay the movie, while recording it as an AVI file.
EDIT: You can also record it as a straight up AVI, skipping the emulator movie/record process. However, when you play the game, it will lag (not in the recorded AVI though).
Why not just use hypercam? it records what ever is showing on your monitor, and going out of your speakers. so if your playing the emulator full screen, you should be good to go.

Someone recommended this one to me. Works great. Not sure if it's been updated since.
When you are done, you replay the movie in the emulator and record it as an AVI.
