FFXV UCE - Buy now or..
Don't know how many fellow NA members are looking forward to the launch of FFXV, but pretty much everyone knows that Square Enix launched 30,000 Ultimate Collectors Edition at $270. Well, I was working during the launch and did not get one so I was thrown on the waiting list. They did make 10,000 more, but I have yet to recieve my e-mail (though they are still going down the waiting list). That being said I'm wondering if I should purchase one on eBay. $270 was already way more than I ever wanna spend on a collectors edition, but I love the series and really want it. They range from $350-650 on eBay and I don't really want to spend more than $450 on one. That being said I need some opinions if I should buy before the game launches or after, I've never really missed a pre-order before and I've been thinking this over for a few months now. Thoughts/Suggestions?

This could potentially be the final nail in the coffin for me and newer FF games.
I am just going to be getting the regular edition of the game, not only that I don't even want to pay full price for it either. As long as I have waited and how much I want to play this game I just don't know if I want to spend a lot of money on it.

Already is for me. It's as generic of FF as you could imagine. Picture FF on PS4 in as expectable and as typical of a fashion as possible. There, you are picturing my exact experience with the demo.

I hear ya man......The thing is is that there is no shortage of JRPGs or console style RPGs in general, I have no issues with geting something else.
The non-turn based combat honestly just ruins it for me.
I will still give it a chance though.

Yeah don't take my word for it, I just put it down without any feeling of great anticipation for the final release. Much more excited for the 7 remake.
And it's one of my favorite games. Haters gonna hate.
What do you guys mean you were burnt by FFXIII? There was no collector's edition for that in the states, as far as I know. Am I wrong?

I also enjoyed FF XIII even though that's not the popular opinion. Out of the 10 FF games I've played so far, I'd rank XIII as the 4th or 5th best I've played. For me XIII was better than I, VIII, X-2, and XII. However I'd say VII, X, and perhaps IV (II) and VI (III) are all better than XIII. I still have XIII-2 and Lightning Returns waiting for me to play.
As for XV, I only care about the standard edition of the game because that's what matters to me. Everything else is trivial BS meant to burn a hole in your pocket IMO. While people are blowing hundreds on CEs/LEs, I'll probably spend less than $50 on a used copy in great condition within 2 months of release.

XIII was pretty good for the most part, then again...it had that turn based combat at least.
I put like 100 hours into that sucker so I guess that says it all.
Just reaaallllyyyy don't like the action/hybrid combat stuff.

I stopped at IX, I have no clue what you guys are talking about . Once FF goes back to 2D, I'm in!
While I wasn't impressed with X's voice acting, the gameplay is pretty good. The sidequests alone is worth the $10 that it is now, though I'd find the PS4 version to be the superior version than the PS2, PS3 and Vita version.
FFXII is a different mix in that "what you see is what you fight" and there's no "random" battle. You could literally go through the game and not fight a single monster (except the bosses). I think the story is a little weaker, but again the sidequests are really good and enjoyable. Cheap game as well, though there will be a PS4 release.
FFXIII (all three parts), you'll have to consult with KHAN about it because I know he loves that trilogy.

Do the Limited Editions for FF usually sell out? I have it preordered from Best Buy and I'm on the fence about canceling it. I'm probably not going to play it until a few months after release, so I'm debating if its worth paying full price for the game if the steelcase version will still be available (and at a discount) long after release.
Which edition did you pre-order? The collector's or deluxe? Usually the collector's are always sold out and never will be at the original selling price. The deluxe edition may still be around but with the holidays approaching, it may be a crapshoot. I hope you're also a Gamer's Unlocked member too. 20% off of any game (new, used) is a great deal if you buy a few games here and there.

Sorry, I meant the $90 deluxe version. I am a GCU member, and it's definitely a huge help! I think I'll keep my preorder open just to be on the safe side, I doubt it will ever be significantly cheaper than the price with GCU anyway. Thanks for the response!
