It's mentioned earlier in the thread - but nudity.
  • Gotta ask it...

Are the videos featuring nudity in this game uploaded anywhere? I wouldn't be surprised if they are, but as this is still relatively unknown to people, there is a good chance they aren't.

I was discussing this with NintendoTwizer a while back and it was determined that all of the versions available online don't actually show legitimate, unadulterated nudity. So yeah Let's Sing 2016 is the only way to see that version as far as I know.

  • How the hell does this game have nudity? What is this, Let's Sing 2016: The Guy Game Edition brought to you by Kratos?

What game? Are we still talking about Lets Sing? If that has nudity, I'm about to die laughing.

I guarantee if this is indeed true, that would be the reason why the game got recalled.

Just popped mine in, lemme see if I can find anything.

There might be nudity in part of Let's Sing 2016, and that's the real reason it was recalled? That actually seems well within the realm of possibility I'll have to check one of my open copies for that, if this is so it would be the Wii equivalent of the Panesian games, and could really add to the notoriety of this title.

Holy shit it's true. I hope it's cool if I post censored screenshots?

Starting to think that it wasn't just mic issues that pulled this one off the shelves...

Here's the post, for anyone that may have missed it.

Someone needs to do an uncensored "let's play" of that song and upload it to pornhub or something.

  • I'm sure if the nudity in this game was more common knowledge, it already would be. Is it only the one video that snuck in before the recall?

By the way, is this some official video for a band / artist that may be easily accessed, or is it strictly in the Let's Sing game?

It's the official video for John Legend's "All of Me", with the censored version currently holding almost 1 billion views on YouTube. And I'm assuming this one video is the only reason for the recall, I doubt there's any other inappropriate content in the game. The uncensored version, as far as I know, can't be accessed any other way than through Let's Sing 2016.

Just googling the lyrics, its a song by John Legend

It might be a censored version on youtube.

    EDIT: Beat to the punch
  • Well now this makes a bit more sense as to why the game was recalled days after it released. I can imagine the crap storm if the uncensored video was never meant to be seen by the public and somehow ended up in the game and never caught by test. I'm guessing the threat of death by lawsuit made the decision to eat the losses associated with the recall of what was probably not a huge volume of product to begin with a no-brainer.

Perhaps John Legend will buy up all the remaining copies out there and this will end up the Wii's Stadium Events after all.
  • Ah, so then the girl is actually John Legend's wife Chrissy Teigen. Maybe best known as the co-host from Lip Sync Battle.
  • I watched the VEVO video and there are no blurs, black bars, or exposed nips anywhere but different cuts from the same shoot of the offending material are present. Sounds like the Wii Sing version got an early uncensored cut. There is an article about it on Huffington post with an uncensored photo from the shoot:

    [NSFW] http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/12/john-legend-chrissy-teigen-all-of-me-nsfw-video-shoot_n_3913449.html [NSFW]
  • So then if the Let's Sing 2016 game is the only way you can view an alternate cut of the video containing nude scenes not present in the worldwide release, than it definitely deserves to be recorded and uploaded. It's one of those things that wasn't supposed to be seen, which makes it all the more interesting. Perhaps we could call this video a beta copy with elements not featured in the final build.

Possibly, but quite frankly there's a lot more T&A to be seen on the Wii through Netflix (they even have a "steamy romance" category with plentry of wife or significant other approachable European flicks that contain lots of soft core scenes).

  • It does not appear that this "uncut" version of the video exists online anywhere on YouTube. I couldn't find it after about an hour of googling. So it's very possible this game is the only source for the "lost" cut of a video that's been viewed a billion times. I am somewhat surprised this find has not yet made mainstream news. If this discovery does find its way outside the NA community, I could definitely see a run on this game.
  • My apologies if this thread has started to turn into a "best ways to see boobs while playing with my Wii" discussion.

Yeah, I could see this Let's Sing 2016 recall being a spot on TMZ about the video.

I think people are overestimating the demand for this. The final cut for the music video IMO wasn't that great nor the audio track itself. I did recognise the two scenes (bed and shower) which got replaced with alternate shots which did not expose nips. Quite frankly there's so much boobbage on the internet that it doesn't surprise me this obscure uncut copy of a video got overlooked. Maybe some diehard fan of the model featured in the video would be dying to see it, but I think most people don't care.

Whenever the No_Intro Wii ISO set gets finalized, some hacker will download the ISO and extract the RAW video data without the associated in-game graphics. Even then, the extracted SD uncensored video data would likely be quietly forgotten.

I still think while there's a chance this game could be the Stadium Events of Wii, but don't hold your breath. Recalled copies have already made rounds with resellers on eBay and it wouldn't surprise me if someone has a pallet of them stuffed away somewhere. Speculation will cause people to seek out and hoard sealed copies of this game, something that would never have happened in pre-internet days with Stadium Events when video games in general were still treated as disposable commodities instead of collectibles.
  • Well, if anyone wants to see Chrissy Teigen nude, that's not hard to find. But I still find the fact that nudity was featured in a game having an official Nintendo seal on it to be pretty interesting. Especially since out of the three main gaming companies, Nintendo is always considered the most family friendly.

    Well there's also Just Dance 2017 :

  • How many people will buy these Sing and Dance games every year purely on speculation they think it's gonna be the last licensed game for the system? The fact new Wii games are coming out in November 2016 means the Wii had a 10 year run. That's longer than NES (1985-1994) and SNES (1991-1998), at least in the United States.

And what was the last Wii game released in the US that wasn't a Singing, Dancing, fitness, or party game? As in Platformer, SHMUP, RPG, fighting, racing, etc, something real gamers play?

It's not really the fact that the game has nudity, but that it made it through the censors, was sealed by Nintendo, and released on the open market. Nintendo realized it's mistake and recalled it quickly. It's got the story and the relative scarcity to give it hype. People wouldn't be buying this game for 3 seconds of partial nudity or because of killer audio tracks, much like people aren't buying Hots Slots for the porn or SE for it's inovative use of the power pad.

That said, I still don't think this game is going to be worth much in the long run. Too many copies have surfaced (still coming out in fact) and the demand for obscure Wii titles is so low that it doesn't really push up the value. Maybe when/if Wii collecting becomes more mainstream like NES/SNES, I could see it becoming the HTF title. Though, even then, I would compare it more to a Sculptor's Cut type of title due to the number of copies than to something like a SE.

Last non music or sing game was rodea the sky soldier, also pandoras tower is one of the last wii exclusives. A mighty one too.

Also the voice is already a wii game that.was also released on ps3 and xbox 360 a few years ago in ntsc. It appears this is a newer version and uk only. Just dance 2017 would therefore be final release.
  • And again, Rodea for Wii is awesome and a lot of people don't seem to realize that yet.

It's only showing as a Wii-U game on pricecharting.

Yeah, it was a pack-in with the Wii U game (first prints only?). The cover art is reversible, which is interesting because one side is a Wii label and the other side is a Wii U label. The important thing to note is that, opposite of assumptions, the Wii version is significantly better than the Wii U version and therefore it is flying under the radar.

This game sold so poorly that I don't think it will ever get past the first print run, so most likely all copies will include the Wii version. The Wii version is way better than the Wii U or the 3DS version, but the game has been so tainted by those that it may be a long while before we see any traction on the Wii version. I preordered the special edition when it was first announced, hoping this game would be awesome.
