Started playing around with Realm last night. Seems pretty hard, but it also seemed to have unlimited continues, and I was enjoying it. I'll hopefully have time to take a real shot at that tonight.
For someone who has played Bubsy since childhood I really suck at the game. It infuriates me. I haven't gotten past level 12 yet but eventually I'll beat it. One hit deaths everywhere and I think I just lack the patience for this game right now
Ninja Gaiden 3 has fallen, and with it, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy.
I am trying to remind myself why I paid so much for this game.
Well done, i did a practice run on metal warriors tonight and did pretty good. I will try a full run but no telling if i can get past the frustration that some levels incur.
Bubsy is done. Not a bad game but it caused me quite a bit of frustration. A lot of cheap deaths in my opinion but it's complete nonetheless. I found that harder than games like castlevania or possibly even mega man x but it felt much less rewarding.
Got to level 27 of Spectre without dying, then it started insta-killing me with the rolling balls. Super fun.
Yup I tried Spectre a few days ago and thats as far as I got as well. The rolling balls feel completely random. I may try it again sometime soon but man those instakills get rediculous.
I got to the second to last level on metal warrior's and something happened that i have never seen on a snes game, it froze during the boss's dialogue. i have the capture footage and may post it later just for kicks but i was pissed when it happened.
I will try again later tonight, i need to clean the cart and snes. I think i can get this done, i did not die till i got to the secret mission.
Edit: I think this may be a bug with the 8bitdo receiver/controller so i will use a wired remote for the next try.
I tried metal warriors again last night but i seemed to lose my mojo, ill post my video of the freeze during gameplay for anyone who wants to see on my youtube. I will try again in the next few mins but that really sucks when i was kicking so much robot butt to freeze like it did.
Level 1 of Spectre has warps to levels 5 and 10 but not seeing anything for 30. I'll hunt around the net for a bit.
Level 13 has a warp to 23
Oh my god. Stuff gets crazy by 30. I just don't even....
I must be misremembering -- I guess I picked up the Level 10 warp, and then found some way to a higher level after that. I'm pretty sure I made Level 30 through a warp of some kind, but can't remember how...?
Still halfway through Super Ninja Boy. Just having a hard time with one of the bosses right now.
Might take a serious shot at Super R-Type if I find myself with a good chunk of time one of these nights
Gave Metal Marines some real time for once last night and was having a blast. Really a great game. It's a shame it seems to give you everything to play with all at once, instead of gradually introducing elements like all modern strategy games do. Oh well.
I tried Warlock and got to the third lvl so far. It seemed alright so far, so I'll keep working through it slowly whenever I don't feel like playing Fallout 4.
Also tried Wildsnake and while the concept is easy enough, the challenges for King Cobra mode seem pretty tough. Beat the first challenge easy and failed the second one miserably. Not sure how many challenges there are?
Yeah I'm not sure either. I tried it earlier this year (or maybe it was last year) and stumbled across the King Cobra mode. I don't recall how far I got but it definitely gets tough
1/2 through Metal Marines. Love the game, but it definitely becomes easier once you know how to start picking holes in their defense.
I don't know if the game ever had a sequel, but added units, varied victory conditions, more upgrades, bosses, etc. would of potentially made a top 10-20 game on the system

Onto Ninja Gaiden III tomorrow. Some days I can't help but wonder WHY am I torturing myself with bad games like this one.

I love Ninja Gaiden III on the NES. The SNES version is supposed to be inferior though.

All the Ninja Gaiden on the NES are just about challenging enough and a whole lot of fun to play.
The ports on the SNES NG Triology are another story entirely. Input response is terrible. I don't know how they managed to screw this up that badly.
Sudden blood pressure drops as expected as the Spanish inquisition are no fun.

There's a warp to go straight to Level 30 (IIRC). No idea how to deal with the balls (ahem), except maybe by jumping and somehow avoiding them.
Recall how the warp works?

I think there's literally a warp panel just sitting there in Level 1, IIRC, with no tricks or anything required to use it.
Halfway or so through Super Ninja Boy. It's... alright.
Also tried to play some NHL '94, but I've lost every game so far. Maybe one of you Canucks can put me out of my misery
Also did a quick trial of Alien 3. Didn't seem too hard.
