SNES Dealer Preview carts?

I got these a while back from someone here but I really have no idea where they came from.  Anyone here have any info on these two?  Thanks! image

  • Hmmm, interesting. I'm assuming they're just retail carts with different labels, but have you ever opened them up to check for EPROMs?

I have no clue what they're worth, but they're most certainly cool items to have.

Yup, that was the first thing I did when I got them.  Looks like a final retail board & chips to me.
  • I'm guessing review copies from before the games were released, so the game mags had the reviews at the same time of the game's release?
  • make me remember the gaming machines that were outside of major retal stores that allowed you to play games before they were actually publicly released like a week or 2 before release.
  • We never had those carts, we had protos, I am sure with Nintendo beaing nearby, they allowed them to be on display in retail stores beforehand like they do in Japan...Toys R Us or K-Mart maybe?
