I'm calling it: Turok 3 n64

I'm calling it: Turok 3 n64 is the next game on the N64 that goes stratosphere level in price. It took me so long to find it in the used game stores and I finallly found it for $10. I hope I'm wrong. Just saying folks... Stock up now. haha.

  • Nah, maybe will go up to a $30-40 game since it is well known franchise and fairly uncommon.

But it's never gonna be Bomberman 2 or sculptors cut level.

I do still need this one though. One of the few N64 games left i need.
  • Sorry mate, the hype train is not leaving the building. There are lot more worthier games than this one.
  • Not sure if I can agree.......you would have already noticed an increase with the way N64 collecting has been going lately.

Naturally, I have my opinions on my N64 collecting, but I am always curious on others ideas. Can you elaborate?

  • Nah man, Superman 64, you heard it here first, that's the next game to break three digits. A real hidden gem.

Well, I think we are already seeing somewhat of an established market for the system...I just can't really see Turok 3 going from a $20 game to $150+

  • sweet. Just bought all the copies on ebay.
  • Alright MrWunderful experiment time; hold on to all of them for 6 months. Then release one at $200 BIN and another a day later at $150 BIN. The $150 BIN will get snatched up then you can keep listing a $150 copy. After like 3 or 4 I'm thinking even the auctions will claim $100++ all by themselves!
  • Starshot, Fighter Destiny 2, Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth, Monaco Grand Prix, Hercules The Legendary Journey, Fighting Force, Big Mountain 2000 and Flying Dragon are all probably more likely to see some sort of drastic (not steady) price increase at some random point in time. As far as which cart only games that will be next to break $100+? Those would probably be, Goemon (both games), Stunt Racer, Starcraft 64, Harvest Moon, Conker's Bad Fur Day (I think it has already broke into the 100+ price point though), and probably Transformers: Beast Wars Transmetals, at some point. With the way N64 prices are going right now, it really wouldn't surprise me if some random game around the $10-$20 range just randomly shot up to the $80+ range practically overnight.
  • Sigh, did no one learn anything from isolated warrior or are we doomed to repeat this every couple of years?

If i recall correctly, Isolated Warrior was declared the *final* hidden gem.  Final means final--there are no more hidden gems folks.

Sometimes I wonder if people post those kinds of things because they are wanting a price spike. With as trigger happy and paranoid as some people can be, it might just work.

For nes but point being was a thread was made and people went ape because no one likes being caught with their pants down and miss out on something due to hype. That thread was a dangerous reminder of how misinformation and hype can raise prices be it on forums or media like news sites and video sites like youtube.

Sadly it has worked before just look up the isolated warrior thread, i posted a link to a thread where it happened years before on 2 snes games.

  • I haven't been around NintendoAge long enough to understand what you guys are saying with Isolated Warrior. Nor was trying to illicit a panic on Turok 3, lol. It was just a weird game for me to finally collect. Literally, I've been looking for that game for months and finally *finallly* found it one day. That day was yesterday. Just based on rarity alone I was making my presumption.
  • What's the deal with Monaco Grand Prix?

Shit, you called it on Stunt Racer, lol
  • Can't someone hype a game for being good for once? Instead of just rarity? I've actually played Turok 3 and it, along with Perfect Dark, is a fantastic showcase of the N64's power. It's got a lot of advanced visual effects, nice high res polygon models and a really good multi-player mode.
  • A year or two ago some guy hyped up Isolated Warrior as being the last true hidden gem, and it actually created a small spike for it. So thats what thats all about.

One of many *&^ hats to successfully pull this crap off. Since NA repeats itself i expect another one besides a few others i seen before the year is up.

  • Every time I come here I see a couple dozen users actually contributing, and like hundreds of people logged in, breathing from their mouths, and making little grabby motions with their hands every time a game is hyped up in the forum, before they run off to ebay to buy several copies to stack in the corner.

Not everybody, we also talk about hot dogs.

That being said, I'm getting over a cold, so I am breathing from my mouth... forgive me?

  • Ive seen turok 3 a ton. Its tough to miss, since its a black cart. Tgis was a very poor call. 1/10
  • ive got a stack of 20+ copies of wave race for the 64. im calling it thats the next rare game.

(c'mon guys i gotta move these things.)
  • Its funny, this posting was from the end of March, and there is literally a peak on this game in April.

Probably just a coincidence in random spikes in data, but funny none-the-less.
  • N64 Sux!

It's just good business after getting a game to say "HEY EVERYONE, THIS GAME IS GONNA BE WORTH MILLIONS".

Guys I think Who Shot Johnny Rock on Sega CD is going up to triple digits soon. Not only is it a $10 hidden gem but when was the last time you saw Who Shot Johnny Rock at your local game store or Goodwill? Exactly. $100s, it's coming.
  • Wow, that April spike is pretty funny. I made this post back when I just wanted to post how proud I was to find this game finally... Way before I realized you could start a tidal wave of hysteria with a post like this.
