Never before seen GameCube merchandise???
Need help finding out exactly what this is and where it came from, it is a GameCube cup that's smokey translucent color and says Vision USA, Made in USA and, pat pend on the bottom, check images in attachment. If anyone knows ANYTHING about this please message me, I'm dying to know where it came from and why it was made. Also if anyone has a copy of Earthbound or Demons Crest that they will sell for a decent price please let me know, I'm located in the Glendale, Arizona area and have been trying to get those back in my collection since a roommate stole my original copies. Thanks for reading and hope you have a wonderful day.

I found mine at good will years ago for $1
I would totally use that all joking aside lol.
Still, you could get anything from shot glasses, lighters, expensive leather carry-on luggage bags, embroidered fleece jackets and, of course, buttons, pins and pads of paper. This is a cool looking cup but I doubt it's worth much since it's so easy to mass produce.
A "problem" with many of these items is that in this day and age companies like Nintendo can easily, and cheaply, brand everything imaginable. There are numerous companies that provide all kinds of things that they can print your logo on, and you can sell or distribute to your employees. I worked for a moderate sized corporation that had a site that we workers could go to and buy literally thousands of items with the company logo emblazoned on it. Did they use all of those items and were most of them ever fully manufactured? Nope. Probably less that 10% of the was ever shipped to someone in the company.

While that's true of today, I don't know if it was that easy to do when the GC was released.
Maybe it was, I don't know.
Now, today, there are even more companies and it's even easy for smaller companies of, say, 200 or so employees, to be able to afford a self-branded "swag" catalog.
It likely was. My experience goes back over 10 years ago and, at that time, I was aware of multiple companies that provided that type of service to larger corporations.

My company only has around 100 employees and they get all sorts of things with our company logo on them. Hoodies, shirts, beanies, coffe mugs, pens, and more so it must be pretty easy to have done. It is a multi million dollar per year company though so that may have a part in them putting logos on everything.
That said, I'd love it if they offered a customizable golden goblet design that I could use to say "_____ Holy Grail!"
"ZOMG! I just found the HOLY GRAIL of NES collecting!"
HO-LY GRAIL! HO-LY GRAIL!
Items that would come to mind could be golden watches with an embossed emblem intended for employees of 30 or 40+ years of service, or quality minted coins/medallions meant for gifts or awards.
The key isn't whether these items were made by some third-party because they are all third-party produced, especially since Nintendo doesn't make knick-knacks like this. They make video games. A better question is, is the quality of this item high enough that a fake would be hard to forge and does the item have enough provenance that, though rare, it's very obvious that this was distributed by the company (in this case Nintendo) for special occasions?
Buttons, pins, cups, calculators, etc. are fun to own but their value isn't worth much since it's cheap and easy to reproduce these.
NOTE:
I'm not calling into question the legitimacy of this cup, nor am I saying that it's "worthless". It's actually looks like a nice glass and I wouldn't mind owning it myself. However, the "Gamecube" logo probably doesn't increase the value of it all that much. Now, if you had a picture of a well known Nintendo exec handing out these cups at a sales meeting to his reps, and there was enough evidence to prove that this was one of these cups, then the value of these items would certainly go up. Possibly a lot.
However, with a lack of provenance this is just a piece of swag with a fun logo. Nice to have (and use!) but it's not worth a lot to collectors.
Where's a blooper when you need one?
Exactly what I wanted to say
Can ANYONE produce ANY information about this cup? I'm just curious as I have never been able to find anything out about it other than it saying VISION USA, Made in USA and, pat pend. Crack trooper thank you very much your info was very helpful, but please help me figure out where this came from if anyone happens to know anyone who worked at Nintendo when the GameCube came out
It's just a regular ol' piece of promotional material from the release of the Gamecube like any other man, like a sticker, keychain, lanyard etc, or anything found in a common promo kit. It's not like the president of Nintendo used to keep it on his desk and sip coffee from it or anything, it's just a coffee mug. You could probably get $15-20 for it on eBay.
