Mis-remembering is a popular thing. The list of misquoted movie lines is endless. Taxi Driver and Dirty Harry are always misquoted as well.
FWIW I always remember it as "stain" from looking at the books and VHS boxes we had. But to most people's memory credit, the videos did pronounce it in an ambiguous way that sounded like a mix of both. You can listen and hear both versions, I think. "stein" being the more used in names would fit our memories easier than a unique version. Many celebrities suffer this fate as well; Willem (not William) DeFoe, Matthew McConaughey (not "hay") and Brendan Fraser (not Frasier) to name a few.
Wait... Does anyone here seriously believe that any of this is more than people merely being wrong?
I don't know about anyone here, but there are people who believe that the Mendela effect is caused by CERN altering reality.
I am just curious about the people I may have to interact with on here, haha. In all seriousness, though... I find it difficult to take anyone who allows themselves to believe in such foolishness seriously.
Haha it's been giving me a fond appriciation for studying every little detail of a logo.
I only have to look at "STAPLES" logo for about 10 seconds before the word entirely loses it's meaning and the letters just look like a random jumble after a bit.
It literally doesn't even look like English when you look at it for more than a few seconds!
lol well yeah. I'm not saying it's changed or the same, I'm just saying you blankly stare at it for more than a few seconds, and in my opinion it loses all meaning. But I feel that way for some normal words too. Like "GOLF" or "CURTAIN"
What was once Nentendo is now Nintendo. Ralph Nader is Darth Vader. The Beetles are now The Beatles. And worst of all... "Excuse me while I kiss this guy" is now "Excuse me while I kiss the sky"! W. T. F.

Trying to be sarcastic and ended up writing down a real one
The word 'dilemna' has me feeling very puzzled lately. I have spelled this word that way my entire life, as many others report, despite it NEVER being in the English language, and I'd genuinely like to know why I've done this...

I've always spelled it with an 'm'. In your case, it's truly a 'dilemma' indeed.

People don't want to be wrong. So they want to buy into a parallel dimension theory rather than the idea that their memory sucks ass.
lol, sad but true. Like when parents blame TV for the kids being little shits. There's no way it's their fault right

How about the arrow in FedEx?
Or the smile in Amazon that goes from A to Z?

I got around to watching the episode last night, and I have to say it was very funny. Well done AVGN
You guys are all weird. Am I the only one who remembers it as the Bloodstain Bears?
You mean the bloodstain beards
If you're going to ride the crimson tide, go all out, I guess...
Hey, I got my red wings eons ago. How 'bout you boys?
Still can't man.......I did lick my ex-girlfriends pussy when she was on her period while cellophane over it?
It ain't easy being greasy ya know.

yeah always thought that one was pretty clever. 31 is the number of flavors they have if I'm not mistaken
This one is kinda obvious, but the face is made of an L and a G
And this one we should all know considering how often we go there the logo is a g and a happy face
This one is also a favorite obviously not intentional
You're thinking of a sqouija.
lol, as in "squeegee"? I just imagined someone wiping a windshield going "I'm not moving it!!! It's saying something!!!!"

Oh man, if anyone is interested in this, they should play Steins Gate for the Vita...or at least watch the Anime.

It's a good thing you used protection. You didn't want to catch anything, period.
