My NFR Nintendo DS and 3DS Collection and BB Nintendo Zone Carts
While it's only been a few weeks since I began my adventure in NFR carts, I've been quite lucky and now have a small collection. I just want to say it helps to make friends with people are recycling plants.
I'll be adding photos of my current collection which includes a retail display Nintendo 3DS which only works when plugged in. Overall, it's more of a cool novelty more than anything.

How many do you have so far?
11 of the ds carts! I have some odds and ends including a couple GameCube discs that distribute to gen 3 games. If I'm right, I'm only missing 5 ds distribution cartridges. Some are pretty rare...
ah nice, which ones so maybe I can keep an eye out
The one's I'm missing? I'm missing Arceus, Zoroark, Manaphy, Pichu/Jirachi (might be getting soon) and Dragonite in no particular order. So I have some heavy hitters still to get obviously, but the end is in reach!
Best Buy are one of the hardest ones to find especially for Advance, so that is awesome you got that already!!
Somehow this one got out there, so I was happy just because it hasn't really been seen.
I talked to a friend of mine, when I got the Lego City. Turns out (at least in North America) it was only available at certain Lego stores so it wasn't something that was out there as much as lets say Smash and pretty much all of them were sent back to Nintendo afterwards.

Not true. The Lego City NFR was available widely. I remember seeing (and playing it) at a Target upon it's release. All NFRs are supposed to be 'sent' back to Nintendo. Some are picked up by reps, others returned by the stores themselves. It takes time, but they always make it out wide. Heck, there has been one or two Chinese sellers who were able to get their hands on massive numbers of carts for both the DS and 3DS and killed the market on them when they flooded eBay, and that included some of the crazy rare stuff like the Best Buy Nintendo Zone beacon and Nintendo Zone wireless distrubtion carts.
Personally sitting on a near full DS kiosk NFR set (need a few Pokemon distro and DQ Map distro carts) and only missing the newest three 3DS kiosk carts.

Ah thanks for the info. Wasn't aware, only knew what I was told and guess he was wrong.
