What's the deal?!

I purchased Panic Restaurant last summer for $20.  I saw that the new price guides shows it as $46.  I thought, "Wow, that's nice appreciation.  I wouldn't mind having another copy."

I look on ebay, and holy crap!  Was there an overnight explosion in price?  Is it all of a sudden a lot more rare than people thought?  I don't see one under $120.

  • One cannot accurately go by currently-running BIN prices on these. There's one for auction with the box sitting at $41 with 4 days to go (though it will be interesting to see where it ends up).

Btw, I still need a manual for this...anyone have one to spare?

Edit:  The 3 that have ended in the past 2 weeks have gone for $60, $60, and $75...all loose carts o_O .
  • Yeah, the high BIN prices are way off for alot of games. I'd say CIB this game is probably in the $70 - $100 range now.

I'm really sick of all these high BINs and general lack of auctions :/

  • Seriously? I paid $100 for a sealed copy not too long ago and I thought that was way high.
  • Yeah, the demand for this game has increased considerably.
  • I know the high BIN's are not a true indicator. I've been collecting for over ten years now image Something usually causes the spike in BIN's. I wondered if I missed something. Mr. Gimmick's comment is exactly what I was expecting to hear. Nutsack, I'll give you $100 for that sealed copy image
  • mrn, 100 for a sealed is a STEAL.

i have an extra boxed copy and an extra loose copy. i just noticed the $60 sales on the loose copies. i will probably list mine on ebay soon. that is ridiculous!

HA!  Now you can never say that I overpay for everything.  image

  • The sealed copy was mine, and it had a tear in the cello. That being said, I got it cheap so I could still sell it for a reasonable price, so I think the final sale price was still well under market value. For some reason I thought I sold it for $125, but it could have been $100.

Funny thing is, I never ended up replacing the manual for it, so I'm stuck with a boxed copy at the moment.

Edit:  Nope, you're right, it was $100 shipped.
  • SRH201, wanna cut me a deal on that box? image I want a box!
  • I'll be selling my 10/10 MINT one in about 6 weeks, and I'm expecting at least $100 for it.
  • you'll pull 100 easy, cart auctions are ending about 60-70, and it seems tons of people need the manual on this.

PS: Am i the only one that hates this game? Its ok at first glance, but after that its a cheap uninspired platformer.

    Photobucket

    I'll pretend I didn't read that...

  • nice poster Mark!!!

I got my cib about a year ago for 60ish, price on this one has shot up like crazy.
  • ^ Yeah, I remember when I BINed my copy at $80 and I had a convo with someone on AIM (I forget who at this point) and I said, that's about fair market value but this game is waaaaaay underpriced, I mean it's gotta be in the top 5 cart LICENSED cart rarities right? Or at least top 10? Plus it was dead mint gorgeous so I knew I had to pick it up.
