Sweet. Love that you actually collected the unlicensed games too. Once upon a time they were required for a set. Then a licensed set got a designation. Then a licensed set minus SE. Nes collecting has gotten more and more dumbed down over the years. Good on you for doing it right.

I think what you're referring to is people who want to claim the accomplishment of completing a set without having to drop $20,000 on a few critical "capstone" pieces that are both extremely difficult to find, and jaw-droppingly expensive. I'dbe willing to bet that if the total pricetag for SE and all the Panesians, 6-in-1s etc was $500 and not $15-20k, everybody would consider them a part of a truly complete set. I can sympathize with those people, I nervously gulp at obtaining marquee collection items that are 1/10 of that cost. I wouldn't say that NES collecting has become dumbed down over the years, it's just become insanely expensive for completionists.

I hope you find a SE someday, and I hope this grants you the 'Complete in Box Nintendo NES set' icon!
That is one nice collection there. CIB is a special kind of collection for sure !
It would be an understatement to say that that was an impressive feat!
