Also, to add this, all of the places I went to had a 5:1 system to controller ratio which was crazy, but a smart move by Nintendo (and also have people ridiculous ask ridiculous amounts of money for a controller that cost $10 in store).

I dont care that you bought 6 of them to resell, if you didnt someone else would. I really wanted one and knowing that people like you would be out buying them all, I didnt even bother, not worth my time. Dont blame you for scooping them up if you went through the trouble to sit in line at multiple stores for hours. I would have done the same (but prob would have just bought one extra to sell to a friend), if I cared enough or had the time to waste. But dont expect to be embraced by everyone here with your story, because a lot of people really want only ONE to play. Significantly worse ratio here. Neither Target nor Walmart had the controller. Two of my brother's coworkers moonlight at GameStop and they say they only received one. GameStop is the kind of place that would have forced you to buy one with the console of they could!
JUST WAIT. I realize a lot of people are attracted to gaming since it is an extremely convenient hobby as compared to pretty much any other hobby. When the hobby becomes inconvenient it loses one of its main appeals. Nonetheless, JUST WAIT.
i got to my local target at 730 (they open at 8) and sheeeeet, already sold out (passed out numbers) - so off to toys r us where they had 30. I was number 15 in line and waited an hour in the cold and picked one up. damned if they only had TWO extra controllers for sale, so now I'm on the online hunt for an extra controller!
it was kinda fun to be a part of the hype, even though I froze my face off!

I got on dell chat to see if they could order it for me, support person gave me this link http://deals.dell.com/productdetail/42d and said the deal would be live at 11 am est. it also said that on the product page. When I came back at 11 am the 2nd link was dead, I got on chat support again and the person was able to add it to my cart and process the order through chat support. Seriously, people need to understand that Nintendo does this on purpose. They did the same thing with amiibos. If you create a relatively low quantity item with lots of demand, they fly off the shelves. They will then release a few more waves, also flying off of the shelves due to the continued demand. Eventually they will make a bunch and they will sit. I'm guessing this nets them more money overall then just throwing a crap-ton out at once by creating hype and demand.

I drove by Toys R Us on the way home to try to marvel at the line; someone at GS said they saw around 20 people waiting around 8:30 or so.
Do these really have a lot of appeal to collectors here, especially on this form? Most of us that want to play these games either use an emulator or have an NES with the carts. This is a glorified emulator, correct? They can't even read a real NES cart, right?

For 400$ you could buy an Everdrive type cart and put EVERY Rom on it and an NES to play it on. No need for these half-baked nostalgia-type console clones to get that job done.
