  • I was just trying to get a controller (got a console this morning @ store). refreshed at 5:00:00 and nothing. meh. went to the console, nothing, went back to the controller and it was avail for 9.99! great, picked it up, was done in 8 or 9 seconds!

I am going to pick up the extenders as well as the 3rd party carrying case to kinda keep it all neat and portable. anyone else?

You can't even tell the difference between a mint box and this new NES's box (not that I've compared the two, but the box is beautiful mint) so it would will look nice even with you guys on the site that have insane collections; that's my opinion at least haha

I'm sure it does and would, sometime down the road I may even get one, but to me, I just want to play the games anyway.  Virtually lag-free on the AVS with my own controllers is just such a more appealing option.

I noticed *immediately* that the lag on NES Classic Edition is very significant. Much more extreme than Wii Virtual Console on the same TV (at least that gives me a wireless Wii remote). It has resulted in countless in-game deaths already. Old Sony 52" XBR, one of their first 1080p sets. It has game mode enabled for that HDMI input.

    [edit]

Forgot to mention I also changed the video filter mode to "pixel perfect" (from 4:3 default) before playing to minimize image processing.

I also saw very strange color effects when playing Ninja Gaiden. Stuff I never see with a real NES or the Hi-Def NES HDMI mod on the same TV.

    [edit]

It's actually possible the latency comes from my TV; even though Game Mode is enabled. I'll have to try setting my Hi-Def NES to 720p to compare.

I'll check mine. Curious if any parts are interchangeable with original controller parts.

I think the "WCP" chip is probably in the Wii Classic Controller Pro. While playing the NES Classic Edition, I've felt a quirk that I've only previously felt with the Wii Classic Controller Pro and not with the original Wii Classic Controller.

  • Yeah I'm just gonna wait till these come back in stock on Amazon or see one in stores. Eventually people will run out of money to buy every single one that comes in stock.

    Thank you for that information.

Wish they would've worked to make the classics more playable.  If the lag is even worse than the virtual console, I'd love to see someone actually beat Punchout.
  • I bought at Walmart, Target, and Best Buy.

Best Buy was by far the most organized and conscientious of customers. They gave out vouchers instead of allowing people to wait in line only to be told they weren't getting one.

I had the same thought. Punch Out will be brutal.

You'll have to anticipate instead of reacting.

If Apple can make enough phones to satisfy demand there is no reason nintendo couldn't make enough of these rasberry pi devices to satisfy xmas demand.

I'm so over Nintendo at this point.

I'm just going to buy an AVS.

You never should have even considered getting a Mini instead of an AVS.

No trick or anything.  I just refreshed the product page like a madman until I could add to cart and then checked out like normal.

  • This is really embarrassing. I had no idea.

Don't worry about it, bro. Just start collecting Disney Infinity figures instead.

If theres one certainty in life, it's that Disney Infinity figures will always be around.

Stop being such an intelligent adult!

Seriously though guys, there is a lot of salt in this thread.

Play some damn games you do have, and wait it out. You will have one in a month or two.

Wow..now that is slow...pretty soon these will be pretty paperweights if that is the case.

I'm trying to get one for my younger brother, but I guess he'll have to have a bad Christmas. I'm sorry you have to give up your scalp piece though.

I do think there will be lots more before Christmas.
  • I only had one of these, I had intended to cash on the hype and wait it out for units to be more freely available, but I'll just give it to my cousin for christman, not hurting for money that badly. Before christmas I think will be a very tight time frame to get more units in stock, and if they are in stock, no more than a couple per store if that. They'll be trickled all holiday season just like the wii was
  • I remember when everyone was after the wii Mario 25th box. Went super high in price at the beginning. Then the market was saturated and price dropped. Same thing will happen here if we wait a bit.
  • Well, if you came up short, Dollargeneral.com has the 2016 handheld genesis system for $26 shipped. I went ahead and tried one.

Now you gotta do it with Hi-Def NES to show that it's not the TV.

...you mean to say there's another way to play these games?!?
  • What burns me was that I couldn't pre-order one.

I can pre-order a digital version of a video game that has no chance of selling out but not one of these?

Yeah. Pre-orders serve at least one important purpose: determine the demand so they don't produce far too many.

It seems like Nintendo ignored the insane buzz and played it waaaay too safe with initial production. Nintendo had PLENTY of time to gauge demand and produce millions of units for the launch. Seems they must have had some major snag.

Having worked in retail during college, I wouldn't begrudge employees of places like Target if they were able to get one ahead of time.

Working a mindless minimum wage job should have a few perks when it can.

that's how I got my GameCube adapter for WiiU. That was another heavily scalped item
