Been using mine since 1998. Pronounced "Ohkey Reesue," it means "big squirrel." It has nothing to do with my avatar. I like dragons, so that's why my avatar is always a dragon
Mine's from a character in my favorite Dickens novel, Little Dorrit.. My avatar images are almost all Howard Stern Show references, especially Eric the Midget (ack ack)
Username: so yeah, like pretty much every teenage girl in North America in the late 90s/early 2000s, I was a big fan of Sailor Moon. And also like pretty much every teenage girl in North America in the late 90s/early 2000s, I wanted to be a Sailor Guardian myself, fighting against evil in all of its forms. Thus, by the power of overactive imagination, "Sailor Neorune" was born. I used the handle for many things, and as stupid and cheesy as it sounds, I didn't have the heart to drop it.
Avatar: 2 of my favorite games I was introduced to as an adult are Balloon Fight (at least, I don't recall playing it as a kid, though I played a ton of Joust) and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (which didn't see US release until I was well into college-age). The common thread here is Satoru Iwata. He helped make Balloon Fight great fun to play. He also helped make the DS so successful that Capcom was comfortable in translating and bringing over an oddball graphic adventure about taking on a twisted legal system in either near-future Japan or an alternate California where, oddly enough, people are a lot more tolerant of each other though you risk getting the death penalty for something like jaywalking if the "witness" (read: the real perp) manages a strong enough lie. This, of course, depends on which version you're playing. But I digress. Taking inspiration from the 8-bit Ace Attorney 3DS theme and the great outpouring of love for Iwata-san, I mushed these games together to make the Phoenix Wright Balloon Fighter.
A bento is a Japanese packed lunch/lunch box, and I use it as a play on my name.
There is also an anime about people fighting for discounted food at convenience stores named Ben-to. I joke that they made an anime about me because I am known among my friends for liking to buy food on manager's special.
Often times when we are stuck on what to have for lunch or dinner I would drag them out to the store and see what is on clearance and build a meal around it. Sometimes it is as simple as hamburgers, other times it is as elaborate as seared ahi tuna steaks on a salad. Its a fun way to see how creative you can be, and you'll never know what you'll come home with.
I had a YouTube channel were I was talking about my video game pickups and trades that I received in the mail back in 2011. So mail_bag became my twitter and then my NA handle. Very exciting stuff.
My Screen Name is based on the Soviet sci-fi movie "Solaris" from 1972 by Tarkovsky. In the 90s my older brother and I pirated it on VHS, thus making it a "Warez" copy of the movie..thus the "z" on the end instead of "s". Then to make fun of the incident I started using the name on IRC and it just stuck with me ever since
I get asked this a lot. It hails from my XBOX live screen name which hails from a gaming party I went to. We had a bunch of xbox 360 and we wanted to create a bunch of different usernames for everyone to play under so we wouldn't know who each other was. I think it was for one game in particular but I don't remember. But part of the fun was coming up with those bogus names. i didn't even have a 360 at the time but I came up with two.. Dick McFister and Diddles McBean. Afterward, I got a 360 and Xbox live and just used one of those names. I wasn't allowed to use Dick McFister online.. but Diddles worked. Now all my friends call me Diddles and it has stuck ever since.
I got the name DOPLIC in high school during woodshop class when I knocked over a stack of wood after some kid told me to do it. Afterwards some kid kept calling me Doplic in some dorky tone, and then everyone started calling me Doplic, sometimes Dop for short. I've been using it as a screenname for all my games ever since.
Mine is a screen name I use everywhere for simplicity's sake. It comes from letters of my full name mashed together; my middle name is Andrew, where the "andre" part comes from. The "J" and "m" are the first letters of my first and last name.
Hmm, I thought I posted in here. Well, mine is the lamest-- My initials. When a forum doesn't accept three character names or it's taken, I go by rhartness, which is first initial & last name. You can pretty much find me anywhere under one of these two handles.
My name came from one of my old bands where we covered Video Game music (and recorded in pretty horrible quality on a tape recorder to boot!): Subcon, named after the world of Super Mario Bros 2 that most people didn't seem to know at the time. We had three members so I created an e-mail account thesubcon3, which has stuck with me now for about 20 years!
If this website still works, I can only assume it's hilarious! (It is blocked at work for me)
My wife saw a goose on the side of the road by itself and exclaimed, "sole goose!". We'd always seen them in pairs, so it was odd to see. As I thought about it more it had many other levels of meaning due to the solo homebrewing thing. Then again, I really enjoy working with other people . All of that, and since "Blue Apple Games" was already taken.
My original NA screen name came from a game that I have yet to port... yet!

Is KHAN really a huge fan of Star Trek or is that just a rumor?
I do love TNG. But that has nothing to do with my name.
What about your old handle?
Hey, while I have your attention... What does your name mean, captainmorgandrinker?
It means I'm a war monger apparently.
As for my avatar, it's (usually) the punkin that I carve every year. My kid is currently obsessed with Ghostbusters and requested Stay Puft.
Robot is a play on my last name and kids in the 80s would call me James Robot when trying to make fun of my name.

That matches my leg!

Jizzurpbilly is mix of Jerbilly and sizzurp. I'll let you rocket 80s scientists figure that one out.
I'm just wondering how you did that without getting sunglasses.

Only the Inner Circle knows for sure.
You're making a very bold statement by having Jizz in your name.
I consider myself fortunate it's only in my name

Considering what you did to get into the inner circle, I agree.

If only everyone were as dedicated as this guy.
