  • Good job OP. That's pretty admirable.
  • It's time for a MASSIVE fall update. As of today, I sit at 1273 CIB titles and I rapidly approach my next milestone of 1300 unique North American titles. This update covers the past 2-3 months and the biggest highlight has been me punching out quite a few uncommon titles, which I will notate. Enjoy and as always, thanks for the positive feedback!!!

Up first we have Bakugan: Defenders of the Core for 1$, Beyblade: Metal Masters bundle with a Beyblade top, this is a Toys R Us exclusive, for 8$, was sold NEW at a used game store. This bundle is much less common than the standard version of the game. Next is Disney's Cars: Race-O-Rama, one of 4 or 5 Cars games for DS and was IIRC, $1.00 and Disney's Big Hero 6: Battle in the Bay for $5. This is actually a fairly nice 2d platformer, which is more enjoyable than awful looking 3D on a DS.

Jewel Quest: Solitaire Trio, this one comes off eBay. It's the first of many I will be highlighting from my recent surge of eBay purchases. Anything I got there is going to be very uncommon that I have never seen locally and CIB online is also somewhat uncommon. As for Jewel Quest, it includes 3 games not sold separately (at least not on DS), so this is not a compilation such as "Scribblenauts Collection" or "Ben 10 Triple Pack". Next is Mah Jong Quest: Expeditions, ditto what I said about Jewel Quest, and there are just so many Mah Jonh and Jewel games on DS it is so easy to get confused. Every cheap crummy publisher did one or more of them it seems. Next is Lefty Brain Right Brain, I got it locally for $2.50, and this completes my set of this series (there is a part 2); Curling DS, new off Amazon for <5$. This is such a funny title, as I have NEVER seen it anywhere in all my years of searching yet it has been a super cheap game online forever. It probably sucks so it will just remain sealed on my shelves. Zoo Quest: Puzzle Fun with a funny looking Australian guy. This game is uncommon but not rare. I got it on eBay for about 6$. Next is Sims 2 for 5$, nothing special there.

Here's a block of the better games I have picked up in recent months. Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party (5$), Bomberman for $15 on eBay, this is the 3rd and last Bomberman game I needed for DS, although there is a UK game that I will be picking up soon. T.A.C. Heroes: Big Red One, I forget how much I paid, but it wasn't much, a strategy war game; Next is B-17: Fortress in the Sky. If I am not mistaken, DSI released this also on the GBA, which surprises me little. (Cost <5); Cheer We Go from Natsume (a great company) direct from Natsume official on eBay for 8$. Nintendogs: Dachsund and Friends, 3rd of 4th Nintendogs games I need, $2.50 locally.

Showtime Championship Boxing, local find for $5, Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam, local for $1, Chrysler Classic Racing (pretty rare), for 5-10$ on eBay; Honda ATV Fever sealed new on eBay for 5-10$. Major League 2K12 for 1$.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, $2.50 local, Legend of Guardians, $1 local, looks to be an ok game; Ratatouille for $1 locally, Bubble Guppies, this is quite rare, why I don't know other than demand trumps supply big time for this popular series; Western Riding Academy, an eBay pickup for 5-7$, rare too. Divagirls Divas On Ice for $1 locally.

America's Next Top Model, I want to say $2.50 locally, I was planning to buy on eBay soon since it's another uncommon junkware title. I <3 Beauty, locally $1, My Baby 3 & Friends $2.50 locally, My Boyfriend, $1 locally, Jane's Hotel locally for 5$ and this is a very rare title, lastly My Pet Shop off eBay for $5, look who it's by TAITO!!!!!

Miss Spider's Harvest Time off eBay for 8$, rare; Cookie Shop, a Toys R Us exclusive for $6 on eBay, and rare; Bella Sara $8 and not too hard to find online, Sarah: Keeper of the Unicorn by Dreamcatcher, $14 CIB, and VERY HARD TO FIND! A look to eBay reveals 0 complete copies and 3 cart only's right now and no complete's on Amazon. That is what I'm talking about being hard to find a CIB copy.

Here we have my 2nd copy of C.O.P.: The Recruit. I had the GameStop edition w/ 2 bonus missions (via voucher code). I can't think of any other DS games where the variant is in the form of a bonus feature. Very cool one here:

This is my only import of this post. It's B Team: Metal Cartoon Squad, which is an overhead Metal Slug run-n-gun style game. The controls suck badly especially for someone who is left handed, as stylus controls direction of firing and right controls movement of the 3 characters. It's still a weird ass game, maybe one of the weirdest I've ever seen (regarding story and art). I had to get this the minute I found out about it. Got it for $15 shipped.

Here's a pic of the back of the box featuring a few screenshots of this wacky game:

Chronicles of Mystery: The Secret Tree of Life and Hidden Mysteries: Vampire Secrets, a pair of crappy hidden object games. 5 or less each.

Vegas Casino I found it at a thrift shop for $3 minus a dollar for my coupon, so for only 2 bucks. Had a copy in my cart on eBay for 2 weeks as this was one of the titles I really wanted to punch out due to its extreme rarity. And now the coolest thing I found, Road to Vegas, $2 at the Half Price Books regional warehouse sale. It's either a bootleg or a poorly created promotional package. The front coverart is the European PEGI rating and printings and the back (see below) has the NTSC rating. The manual has no writing, just big colorful pictures on each page. I have no idea what this is... it's not a North American release (as it wasn't released here) and the PAL version looks nothing like this. So what is it then?

    Back side of this one:

Some sports games! Super Black Bass locally for $1. Ducati Moto on eBay for 8$, very hard to find complete copy; Madden 07 for a buck, MLB Power Pros, a local find for $2.00 which is nice because this is rather pricey online. Real Soccer 09 for $2 (which is more of a simulator), and Fab 5 Soccer on eBay for $5.

CSI: Deadly Intent - The Hidden Cases locally for $6, Who Wants to be a Millionaire for $1 locally, Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning for $5 locally, Jewels of the Ages, featuring 2 unique games, neither which were sold separately on DS, so this is again, not a compilation. Ben 10 Vilgax Attacks for $2.50 local store.

I have finished the CSI set for DS:

I have finished the Spyro set for DS:

Wipeout 1 for $2.50, Cake Mania 3 for $5, Pipe Mania for $2.50, Texas Hold Em Poker DS for $5, ATV Quad Frenzy for $2.50, all locally bought. Last, Veggy World on eBay for $5-10.

Here's the set of all 4 Are You Smarter games. Yippy doo dah.

The set of Style Lab games:

Disney's Tinker Bell, Disney's Brave, Cars 2, Rise of the Guardians, and Dora Puppy, kids games all locally for 2-5 each. Brave is a nice game.

Here is the European copy of Devil Survivor 2 that I found for $1. The store said it's region locked so they sold it off for $1. Fortunately for me, I know the DS is region free.   Anyways, this version is by Ghostlight and I am not sure, but it may be different than the American version. It also has a really cool poster that it came with.

Some Barbie games, $1 each, Imagine Salon Stylist $1, Icarly $1, Littlest Pet Shop $1, and Petz Rescue for $2.50. All boring stuff, but necessary for the set.

Titanic Mystery off eBay for $5~, Are You Smarter: Make the Grade for $1, Spiderwick Chronicles (looks ok) for $2.50 and is different than its Wii counterpart. Sims 2: Castaway for $2.50, Imagine Master Chef at $1, and Style Lab Makeover for $2.50. I usually will not pass up a junky shovelware title I need for 2.50 or less. When I see one I need for $1 it's a no brainer. I am not in any rush to pay $5 for an Imagine or Petz title, so they will be completed when I find them all cheaply.

Sims 3 $1, Paws & Claws: Best Friends, $1, this is a variant actually as I accidentally bought this only to find out the version I have has different cart, manual, and cover art. Nice unknown variant there. Letr's Draw for $2.50 locally, missing the manual, but still a good deal on a very hard to find game. The Clique for $1 another nice deal on a costly title.

Luxor for $5 locally, now I own the same effing game on PSP, Wii, and PS2. Call of Duty 4 for $1. Monster Mayhem for $2.50, and Reversal Challenge for $3, and Ultimate Game Room for $1 on eBay, as part of a larger accessory budle that I dumped.

Lastly, we come to our last item of the post. It's a Walmart version of Smurfs 2 which I got at Walmart new for 5$. I try to go there once a month just to check on stuff, and of course this was on clearance. Not a great deal but always funny to find DS games at retailers still, 13 years after system came out.

This wraps up my post. I will probably do another update when I crack 1300 titles. Who knows when that'll be. I am thinking before Christmas (cross my fingers!)
  • Nice progress so far! Remind me again, how many DS titles are in a complete set?
  • Supposedly a little over 1,800 titles (not including DSiWare).
  • Still loving these updates. Any more killer titles left or is it just the filler remaining?
  • Your collection is amazing! I love the way ds cibs look next to each other...

I need a handful of killer titles, however, I punched one out today, which was Dragon Quest VI, so now I have the all the DQ games on DS, which amounts to 7 different titles!! I thought they re-printed IV, V, VI, and IX. But it turns out VI is super hard to find and very expensive.

There are several others but I'd prefer to keep them surprise, partly to keep this thread fun but also because they are quite hard to find and I don't want to put out there how rare they really are. The most recent killer title I picked up was probably Atelier Annie.

Edit: I went thru my master list and there are 7 "killer" titles I still need. 3 of which are shovelware and 4 of which are from larger publishers. I hope to punch them out soon so I promise to reveal as I go.

My list says there is 1759 titles which counts multipacks but not variants. Counting variants is 1800+.

I put more time into this list than my Wii one, so I am hoping I am 99.9% accurate.
  • ALL the shovelware haha. BURN IT WITH FIRE! Jk jk. Awesome awesome collection. This reminds me that I need to update my hidden ds gems thread. That's a little overdue.

EDIT: Hidden DS gems thread has been updated   You guys need to play Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland asap!
