NA Secret Santa-ing 2016!

Surprised there wasn't a thread on this yet. Just thought it would be nice to share how it's going so far without revealing your person/gift. 



My person is pretty polar opposite of me as far as collecting, but I found a handful of things I think they'll like. Already received everything to send out except for one item that I had to order from overseas. Hope it gets here in time, but if it doesn't, I do have a backup plan  .



How's everyone else doing? Excited for the season yet?

    My person is collecting NES (don't think that'll give it away) so it was cool shopping for them. I'm not after the set, and mostly go CIB, so looking through piles of carts like the good old days was fun. I picked out two games they didn't have, just gotta wrap em and ship em!

    My person is really into imports, out of all the systems they listed I had only heard of 1 of them. But I got a import for them I'm probably going to ship it this weekend.

    I bought my Secret Santa's gifts the day I got the message from Santa. I'm done shopping and just need to ship it.

    Mine are purchased! Just waiting for them to arrive, then it's off to the post office.



    Got some nice wrapping paper and will include a note right at the top when they open the box so they know it's their secret Santa gift and can wait till Xmas to see the gifts if they wish.

    I bought something for my person on eBay but I still haven't received it.   Hopefully it'll show up so i can ship it or I'll have to go to plan b.

    Mine was interested in imports. I don't have much experience ordering from Japan, so I'm hoping to get this stuff by Dec 15th. Fingers crossed. I do have a plan B in case the games don't make it in time.

    According to the description we are not supposed to. That is why there will be a reveal thread.

    I got caught up in the fun... mine has been shipped a few days ago.

    Perhaps I threw everyone off, my apologies. My note will simply say something like "Below this wad of newspaper is your Secret Santa gift. Feel free to open now or wait."

    According to the description we are not supposed to. That is why there will be a reveal thread. I got caught up in the fun... mine has been shipped a few days ago.



    I really didn't know this. I always throw my name in there in the note - I just assumed you weren't supposed to reveal who you had until the reveal thread. I mean, if they look at the return address and see "Robbie", it's probably going to be a pretty short list of senders anyway

    My giftee wanted some items that were so commonly bootlegged I wasn't able to confidently buy them online. Thankfully I have backup items since their NA history made their interests pretty clear

    I was able to easily locate a couple games they wanted and even better I was able to grab them from a good friend on here!

    I had a relatively easy time picking some stuff up for my guy, just gotta wrap it up and send it out! Will probably do that by the end of the week.

    I had an incredibly easy time. My recipient listed some things they'd like, I went over to my shelf and grabbed a few things off, and shipped it out the next day.

    This is my first time participating in the Secret Santa and I don't think I could have had it any easier. I had enough on hand for my gift already and I've picked up a couple additional things to make it even better!

    I've already bought 2 games through nintendoage and an additional game from eBay. Still waiting for them to arrive so I can start wrapping them.   I think he'll have a lot of fun with these games. It's super fun searching for gifts for people.

    Got one thing for my ss off there lost and a bunch of extras not on their list. Going to go this weekend and finish getting a couple more games and get it all wrapped up and sent out hopefully Monday. Luckily my ss was pretty specific on what they liked and needed so wasn't hard to shop for at all

    I am waiting on one more item and then I am ready to ship. I started shopping for my person the minute I got my Secret Santa mail, just hit a few bumps in the road with some bad Ebay sellers

    I wasn't able to get some specifics the person wanted (no one on here, deal went south on ebay), but I did manage to get together a small bundle of things I think the person's really going to like.   This has been really fun, I can't wait to receive mine from my Secret Santa and I'm looking forward to participating next year as well.

    I have a bunch of stuff that was on my recipients list and am going to pick up a few more things. They gave me a wide range of stuff to pick from and they will be getting a little something from every gift type they listed. I love this Secret Santa because I like putting together packages of stuff that people like. It helps when the person you are buying for gives you a good idea and a wide range of what to look for.

    I went for a small flat rate box last time because I was on a bit of a low point for money. This year I've had some good work and sells and such and I've got a bunch of stuff I was gonna sell anyways, including home-brews and repros so I'm opting for a large flat rate and I'm gonna pack it with a whole lotta stuff. I'm super excited to see their post when they get it. Maybe I'll write a note saying its from me and put it on the bottom of the box so after they open it they can see it's from me. We'll see!

    got mine thru ebay and after 6 days with no shipping update, it went thru today, was very relieved about that. hoping the recipient will like it.

    I was able to learn about a new to me genre of games that were on his list. I'm just waiting for one more thing from ebay to come and I can ship out! Hope they enjoy it!
