I just started watching Netflix' Hip-Hop Evolution last night and Rapper's Delight was featured in episode 2. Heads of the era were pretty scathing in their opinion of this song and how it came about. Still love it though and was a massive hit.

Is the show any good?
It's almost perfect. There's a lot of insight into the origins of hip-hop, interviews with many of the greats, and it uses original music. Not sure how they got the license to use all of that great music but it really adds to the legitimacy of the documentary. Definitely a must watch for a fan of the art.
^Hell yes to both of those tracks, Toxie! Symphony X RULES! I saw Russell Allen with TSO last week in Manchester
Nice dude! I saw them live in 2004 when they were supporting The Odyssey.
Hell yes! Thats awesome. I saw them in support of Blind Guardian in December of '02. Amazing show. Met Blind Guardian after the show outside the tour bus in the cold and the snow. They were all sick but still took the time to chat with everyone.

So damn funky. This entire album is an homage to 80s funk/R&B. Some of my favorites.
I think it's one of the best black metal songs ever written.
The Odyssey is an amazing album. The title track is incredible.
Not going to lie that is the album that turned me onto t3h Pr0gz.
I didn't even get it really back then, I use to get made fun for it though so bad.
"what the fuck are you listening to?"
"why the fuck does this song have like 7 parts, why don't they just put them as separate songs?!?"
...I knew...Fuck those people.

I had a guy in trade school argue with me that Nickleback was way better than Dream Theater since he had never heard of DT

I probably would have hung myself right in the class, humans are pretty much over at that point.
