Retro gamer, Wanna be collector...hello from Texas!
Hellur all!
Been around gameing since the NES, as the name implies Crystalis is probably my favorite game from that console. It was the first ARPG I ever beat and actually probably the first I ever played, although Zelda was in the mix too. Sometime between my love for the NES and release of the SNES I got a killer deal on an older Atari system and went backwards for awhile. Still kick myself today for getting rid of all the Atari stuff I had.
Turbografx 16/TurboDuo was the next system that really stole my life away and I didn't discover that until the late N64 era. As I slowly progressed through that systems advancements it got more play time and attention than any of my consoles at the time. It is the system I have the largest collection for to date and also one that got me into doing system repairs and mods.
PC Gaming eventually re-took over my life with the likes of Quake 2, Half-Life, Max Payne and some fighter style emulation programs (I can't remember the name of it) while also reverting back to some of the classic shooters from the late DOS/win 95 days.
So as you can see retro gaming is my preferred poison, I still consider myself a collector and constantly have an urge to want more but as life goes on other hobbies get in the way and game collecting has been left on the back burner. Hoping to pick up a few goodies in my time on this site and discover more retro unreleased/remake material while also checking out some of the appealing home brew stuff! My most recent purchase a few days ago was a TMNT all-in-one NES cart from a user that goes by nhanphan (I think I spelled that right). Lol
and I'm outskies! ~ Robert
p.s it feels like I just wrote an about me section on what I'd consider a dating website.

Welcome. And hey, maybe if you play your cards right, this can be like a dating site.
Bwahahahaha if only I could meet a girl with a thirst for retro gaming and that could understand my quirky a*s personality. Err I haven't skimmed the forum rules yet, are "bad" words allowed?
Crystalis kicks major ass though! Welcome!
Don't worry about bad words, I use them myself a lot on this site, especially when it comes to bad NES games and the Joel thread

Well alrighty then I reckon I'm here to Kick ass and chew bubblegum, damn I'm all out of gum.
and hell yeah it does, great soundtrack, gameplay and storyline! Have you ever considered that Crystalis is quite possibly a spin off of sorts to the old YS series? Technically I'm pretty sure YS was before Crystalis if you count the Dos based version, which could possibly be why I loved YS books 1 & 2 soooooo much. Which happen to be the ARPG games that fed my insatiable lust for the Turbo consoles.....Nostalgia my friend, nostalgia!

Never played YS, as there weren't that many YS games released in Europe. I'm pretty sure we had the SMS version though, might grab that one if I stumble across it.

Luckily for you it was remastered and ported on several occasions - YS 1 & 2 Chronicals, Legacy of YS books 1 & 2, YS 1 & 2 Eternal Story and YS eternal. There may be more but those are some I can recall which would be for the PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS (which is considered to be one of the best remakes)and PC. I could actually *cough* share the PC remake with you along with the English patch.
