How many games were not optimized for the PAL region?
So, I just got Probotector, and was super suprised to find it played exactly like Contra. No difference in speed what so ever, suggesting that they didn't bother to change the clock rate. After doing a bit of research, it appears that isn't totally uncommon.
Has anyone ever gone through the PAL library, to see how many games play identical to their NTSC counter parts, when played on a 60Hz system?

The Mario games from Mario 3 onwards were PAL optimized I think.
SMB 1 was PAL optimized as well.

So you played Probotector on your ntsc NES? At the start are you able to get over the bridges before they explode? When i play Probotector on PAL in my experience they are impossible to get across.
Early versions of SMB1 PAL were not optimised. I have a 5-screw cart that feels so wrong.
I know I've seen a fairly detailed list about the PAL optimized games somewhere, but I can't for the life of me remember where.

Was SMB 2 PAL optimized as well?
PAL systems run on 50Hz, and NTSC games run on 60Hz.
Let's just say, Sonic 1 is unbearable if it is played on the original system.
