Sorry to hear about and see this. That was a really nice copy before. Hurts to see the before to after pics... Doesn't USPS have a free up to $50ish insurance on packages? Haven't shipped anything for a while but thought they had it and if it was over that value you paid for the insurance.

on priority. You have to jump through hoops to probably just get denied anyway.

  • Ugh, what a bummer! Sorry that happened, VGD. I mean, shit, that's ridiculous.
  • When I got the claim yesterday I said to myself theres no f'ing way thats my game I sent him. then I saw the box...that used to be a nice sturdy rectangular box.
  • The way those box folds are diagonal, I'd say that it was definitely run over by something. The transfer of applied weight moving from one side to the other would show up that way, as opposed to being crushed uniformly by a vertical load.
  • Man... I'm at lost for words. ):
  • That sucks. Looks like he backed the truck up over that thing. I mean to crush it enough to bust the cart through all the packing. Damn...
  • After reading the title, I was expecting a smashed box, but damn, not a smashed cart.
  • If any game should ever be VGA graded, it's this one.
  • I cringed...hard. Wow...makes me worry about USPS handling anything now...but you just never know what can happen to stuff...I've seen those videos of UPS people THROWING packages into the back of their truck...you have to put your trust into these people that they won't mess up your shit.
  • This makes me sad.
  • That might be the first beat up copy of Zelda II on record! Normally they are dead mint.

Sorry about your loss though man, RIP.
  • Atleast it wasnt like a little samson or a panic restaurant or a flintstones

If it wasnt run over and instead jammed in a sort machine or something, i hope the machine broke.
  • since its first class usps is not accountable. should have sprung for small FRB and got the $50 insurance payoff at least
  • Thats rough man
  • I sold a Battletoads cart in 2009 that arrived like that. Ran over and shattered to pieces, unfortunately it happens on rare occasions l.

Variant? Its a classic series cart. They are all gray.

The gray classic series is less common than the original release, but strangely that is not reflected in the market value.. (Same with Punch-Out! Featuring Mr. Dream)

  • Sorry to see that. I really worry about anything going through the mail close to christmas. Seems like an easy time for mistakes.

Get that one back and display it as a reminder of what the post office can do.

roughly a $3 difference to possibly get $50 back. I shipped well over 5,000 packages first class this year I had one show up like that.

  • Exactly scott. Cost of doing business but my loss would be huge if I had to insure all these games. Even after this I'll still take my chances for the most part.
  • There should be a new VGA grade for stuff like this. "Qualified Run Over".
  • This time of year is brutal when it comes to shipping. Folks just don't care. Not that it was a minty game but I ordered a Thomas the train set from Kohl's and got it in and it was crushed and had a hole punched in it.
  • I saw this post and this was what came to mind.

I'm sorry to hear about this stroke of piss poor luck. But hey it is a Nintendo product so chances are it still might work.
  • The amount of pressure and force required to get a NES CART TO BECOME CRUSHED is surely decent. This is incredibly asinine, OP; I'd be mega pissed!
  • Ran over by a forklift or some similar I would almost bet on it.
  • Run over a package with a truck? Deliver it anyway!
  • Sorry to hear about your loss. That thing must have been run over by a forklift... I do wonder if the game still works. Hmmm.
  • Where's Paul?
  • I like how you pay a parcel handler to get your stuff from point a to point b, but if they decide to run it over and destroy it, its not their fault. Imagine that in other aspects of life. You go to your bank to deposit your paycheck, but if it doesnt make it to your account, sucks to be you. You go to a restaurant, order food and pay for it, then they drop it on the floor and make your pick it up and eat it.
  • Booooo, USPS! That's the stuff of nightmares. I was immediately paranoid about the safety of my Secret Santa gift. The horror!
  • Paul was collecting the crappies Nes carts at one time. This would go great for thst
