When I was a kid we opened them Christmas morning. When I was a teen we opened them Christmas Eve. I am happy to say since I moved out on my own till now I open them again on Christmas morning.
When I was a kid we got a present each night of Hanukkah, and then more on Christmas morning. (We are Jewish but Celebrate Christmas as well for fun) now that I am a 30 year old man I don't care about receiving gifts and would rather give them
It's always been Christmas Eve with extended family, then Christmas morning with immediate family. Now everyone has kids so most will be done on Eve. Still 3 of us for morning though.
When I was a kid it was all the gifts from my parents on Xmas Eve, and then a couple gifts from "Santa" Xmas morning. Now it's Xmas Eve with my family, and boxing day with my girlfriend's family
On my mom's side, it's Christmas Eve. On Christmas morning, we opened presents at our house, then went to grandma and grandpa's, and all the grandkids opened their presents there. It was mass chaos.
It was always on Christmas morning since I was a kid and it still remains that way when we visit my family. However my wife is pagan so we honor her religion as well by celebrating Christmas/ Yule on the 21st. Can't beat two Christmas-es.
christmas eve, usually around 8 or 9 pm. Been doing it this way since we've become adults and half have kids, so everyone who shows up on xmas eve opens their gifts then and there (usually at my grandmas house), unless we're seeing each other the next day (which doesn't happen often).
When I was a kid I would sneak into my moms room and peek at the wrapped gifts. Only did that one year though.
Also, xmas presents whenever we can get together with the different sides of the family. Had Christmas with mom on the 18th this year, will have with dad on Christmas eve, and the wife's family on Christmas morning.
With my parents and, now that I'm married, what I'll refer to as "that side of the family," we always opened them on Christmas morning but had the option to open a single gift on Christmas Eve if we were particularly good (or, more likely, my parents needed something to help calm my brother and I down).
With my wife's side of the family, it used to be Christmas Eve due to how her father worked, but after her parents divorced, we spend Christmas Eve with her dad's family, Christmas morning with her mom and sisters and then Christmas Afternoon with her grandparents and extended family.
Since we usually have family visit from out of town, or we visit them, we'll end up with multiple days.
We try to keep the bulk of it to Christmas morning when we can, though.
(this year, my sister's family is going to have to travel home on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day -- LONG drive -- so we'll probably do the bulk of our gift exchange a couple of days early, as a result)
When I was a kid my brother and I were allowed to open 1 small gift on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas morning.
This year with my fiance it's 1 small gift on Christmas Eve, open half our gifts on Christmas morning, go to our family's homes in the late morning/early afternoon and open gifts there, then finally back home at the end of the day for the other half of gifts. It keeps the joy spread throughout the day even though the real joy is being with the family and not the presents.
I'm patiently waiting for tomorrow morning.... my fiance asked for a list of video games I want and some pretty suspect sized boxes came in the mail.... so I'm pretty stoked.

For real though, Christmas Eve with dad, Christmas Day with mom.

Consider yourself accomidated!
Sometimes Christmas Eve night, sometimes Xmas morning....sometimes Xmas after dinner.
I usually go to the parent's house early, brew coffee, and wait for everyone to wake up (I'm an early bird).
Depending on the family, people open gifts before or after dinner at midnight.
My family open the gifts at around 9:30pm-10:00pm.

Although, Christmas morning is also true.
That being said... it might be after noon by the time we get to the presents this year.... so might be after.
Looking forward to Christmas already.... just because I'm going to play Aladdin just like I did when I was 12.
I think we did it once, maybe twice, Christmas morning.

...it's a mess.
Christmas morning accompanied by a late night/early morning Christmas Eve scouting op with my older brother to see if 'Santa came yet'.
Now:
Christmas morning, no scouting ops , with some additional presents received throughout late December and early January.
Man i owe those poor bastards big time for all the stuff you just don't appreciate until you are an adult.

Always christmas morning. When i was kid, usually at like 6-7am when my parents had just fallen asleep after wrapping gifts and cooking all night lol

Ha! Yeah, my wife's family always did a few gifts on Christmas Eve before going to bed.
We might carry on that tradition to get a little bit of the energy out and to give the kids something to play with until we wake up.
At my parents' house, we were always allowed to dig into our stockings while we waited for them to get up.
That usually resulted in a few smaller toys and a bunch of candy.
(though in later years, that resulted in a GBC game, sometimes, which really kept us busy)
