Modern game-ruining bugs/glitches.
Over the weekend I aquired a copy of Civilivation: Beyond Earth, which is the newest besides Civilization VI. Unlike what I've seen in Civ V this one is much less based on trading resources and much more about achieving a good relationship with other civilizations in order to be at the top. In this first game I've gotten allied with everyone but one person multiple times, but then one of them declares war on someone else. Because you're allied with them, you have to go to war with the person they went to war with, then your allies also have to go to war with that person. But since you're allied with that other person, you then have to declare war on everyone who's at war with them, including the people who joined in because they're your allies. So in a matter of less than a second, your event feed gets completely overflowed and all that work you've put in has now gone to waste, and everyone's at war with everyone.
This would be fine if it was a rare occurance, but this is the third time this has happened in one game! This easily could've been a feature where you could chose who you want to side with, but unfortunately it ruined the one game I tried to be peaceful with everyone. This game I tried not to do anything militaristic and have everyone allied with me on good terms, and now I've personally taken out a civilization, have war boats that can sink enemies with one shot, more than 2/3 of the world's cities, and everyone's allied with me out of fear rather than respect.
Anyone else found something like this in any modern games? I think that the more features a game has the more problems will be had, and this was a case of that problem creating many more problems for the rest of the game.

Also in civ 4, if you do have a pact with another player, it will only go off if someone declares war on you or your friend, then the other player player in the pact joins the war (as that's the point of the pact). It's a lot more balenced and you don't usually have these huge scale wars, unless a player starts bribing people to join the war... Anyways long story short I like civ 4's game mechanics better then beyond earth.
