Street Fighter 2010!

I gotta say i thought this game was pretty tough. I had only played it on my 3ds but got the cart recently from a member here. Sat down and played through it with my cousin tonight and beat it!

That final level is pretty nuts. Sorta mini boss rush then final boss all while timed. Bananas! I got to the last guy once and then realised the clock was runnin out and failed. Tried about a dozen more times. Final run i farmed a little after the second boss from the plants then took out the 3rd genie twins boss without taking damage and had 77 seconds and full life for final boss. Came down to about 10 secs and took him out and felt pretty damn good!

what are your thoughts on the game. Do you love it? Hate it? Do you feel its as difficult as other notorious NES games? I found it pretty frustrating at times but never thought i couldnt beat it until the last level where i almost gave up. Pretty great game all around!

Snapped a few pics along the way. And saw this add which i thought was funny.

  • Very challenging game, but very satisfying to complete. Congrats on your epic accomplishment, man!
  • Well done. It is quite the accomplishment to beat this one.

This game can be quite challenging, but I love it.
  • This is one of my faves. I love the graphics, the music, even the controls. It's a lot of fun jumping, grabbing ledges, and flip-kicking enemies out of the sky at an angle when you've practiced enough, lol. I'd love to see this version of Ken(or the original japanese character) in a Marvel vs. Capcom game someday.
  • Nice! I beat it myself some time ago

Great game, and a hard one too

Yeah! I was trying to get down the angled kick attack for the brain elephant clam boss, lol, didnt really perfect it though. That would be cool! Maybe in Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite!!
  • This game has a steep learning curve which I think helped it earn its potential. Once you put in time and get the hang of it, it's definitely not impossible. I beat it when I was about 14 years old. It's an awesome achievement to beat and feels great!
  • Ahh very nice dude, I haven't put a lot of effort into getting through it but I plan on it some day.

You should! Its pretty fun & challenging! But the way you blast through battletoads and shit you shouldnt have a problem!
  • Awesome, I find this one pretty hard. Haven't played it a ton, though.

Fun game, I like it. Solid Capcom goodness.
  • One of my favorite games on the NES, personally. There were a few frustrating parts, mostly the result of some cheap enemy/stage-hazard placement but I didn't find the game all that difficult overall. And the final stage took me three or four tries to get through but I actually expected it to be much harder than it was, based on a lot of the internet hype of the past decade.

Still, a very easy-to-overlook gem on the system that's got great graphics, a few amazing tunes and a challenging-yet-rewarding control scheme.

    Congrats!
  • Congratulations. I have never been able to beat this one. A friend had it and we used to play, but we could not beat it individually or collectively. I picked up a copy years later and did not get very far before giving up.
  • Good job. I still need to pick this one up. I just can't seem to find a decent copy going for the right price. I used to own it, but like so many other games, I sold it for some reason BITD. Wish I hadn't.
  • I'm mixed on this game. I dedicated some time to it for the first time a few weeks back and had a hard time. I think the game starts off rough--there's a lot going on during the first stage, they don't let you breath and figure out the system. That said, after I got comfortable with the first stage and both its bosses, I found the game started to flow a lot better with its more platforming-oriented direction afterwards. I made it to the plant vertically scrolling stage and don't think I beat the boss. I intend on going to back to it sometime in 2017 and hope to finish it for the first time.
  • I just picked up a copy of this game because of this thread (less than $7 shipped off of Amazon). Sounds like a fun game. I'm excited to play it now.
  • I beat it way back when it came out when I was a kid. I played it a few weeks ago on the everdrive and couldn't beat the first level...argg
  • I remember seeing that ad in my comic books as a kid. I never played it until I got into collecting. Played it a bit but never got around to beating it. Congrats on beating it, I thought it was pretty tough.

Nice! I hope you enjoy it! Its definitely different as far as how the levels are set up but once i started i didnt want to stop. Think me and my cousin were on it for 3 hours straight before we finished just passing the controller once we used a continue.

You mean it's not $80 a copy yet?! I gotta jump on that!

For real though, this is a cart I've been meaning to acquire for a bit. Threads likes this push me to finally snag it!
  • lol I think it has actually gone down. It seems like it used to be closer to $20.
