Creating a replica of Han Solo's gun

Stumbled upon this video today. Basically some dedicated fans, using the films as reference, pieced together what parts were used for the prop so they could recreate it as close to 1:1 as possible. Kinda neat.

Another interesting note, they mentioned the replica gun they used as a base was limited and is sought after by collectors. These collectors are upset because people like this are destroying this item to make the gun from Star Wars. Kinda reminds me of people destroying ROTJ carts for gimmick repros. But still the finished product looks freakin sweet

Chec out some of the iron man suits even if you aren't an iron man or marvel fan the suits some of those guys make of so amazing and well done its absurb. And I mean absurd in a good way as the detail and craft is as good if not better than some of the professionals that make the stuff.

ROTJ is nowhere on the scale of desirability or value as the firearm you have to dismantle to do this.

This prop/replica is more along the lines of taking a classic car, and rather than restoring it, turning it into the base for a kit/conversion.

(at least in terms of the history, and how many of the originals survive)

see, I have no idea as that's never been something I was interested in. But considering how upset we get about ROTJs I can only imagine the outrage going on with this
