It's certainly a local tradition here to order Chinese food takeout for New Year's Eve. It's common to get busy phone signals, wait hours, and be part of a long line of people carrying brown paper bags full of food out the door.



Anyone else getting Chinese food tonight for New Year's Eve?

    I worked delivery at a Chinese restaurant after highschool and New Years was always crazy. We'd have all the delivery guys working that night and we were on deliveries until after closing. Lots of several hundred dollar orders.

    We used to. But not anymore since my girlfriend doesn't like eating it anymore. Also we don't have a good place around here to order from

    Chinese food < Pizza. You know what we are ordering!  



    I usually have Chinese Food on Xmas day. I don't like leftover Xmas dinner for some reason.

    In my family it was Chinese for Christmas Eve. I wanted to do it this year but my girlfriend didn't care about it so we didn't bother. That seems strange to say ordering is a bother (there is no work involved) but it's so far outside of our habit.

    Just got back from dinner out at my favorite Chinese restaurant. Completely forgot it was a tradition until I got there and every table was full. Should have checked nintendoage before going out.

    Damn...Chinese food would go great right about now...or Japanese...I usually prefer Japanese. But anything like noodles, I'd kill for.

    Not a tradition with me, but I did enjoy a chinese buffet on new years with my family. I might need to make it a new tradition because it was quite tasty.

    Everyone here usually orders on NYE. I had sushi with the gf on Friday, so we opted out this year. In all honesty I feel like I'll be going for it within the week, lol.
