Anyone played Shantae 1/2 genie hero or Pirate's curse?

On the fence about buying these two games. They look really good, but looks can be deceiving. It's been a long time since I played the gameboy color one, but not sure if it's exactly like it or not. I appreciate any feedback.

    Yes have beat Pirate's Curse on Wii U. It's a great platformer. Fun game, looking forward to 1/2 Genie Hero

    1/2 Genie Hero is lots of fun, but fairly short.

    It is more of a platformer than a Metroidvania, unlike the rest of the series. But it is well worth the investment if you enjoy platformers.



    Disclaimer, I backed the Kickstarter back in 2013 for a sizeable amount of money. Still, unlike Mighty No. 9, which I also backed, I have logged more than 40 hours on it since I received the earlier access code back in December 2nd.

    I played Pirates Curse over the weekend, absolutely loved it. One of my favourite 3DS games.
