Super Meat Boy, where did it go?!
Besides it being ported to the Wii U this past summer, what ever happened Super Meat Boy?
Sure, everyone loooves The Binding of Isaac, but where's the love for the platformers?!
Also, wasn't there supposed to be a sequel??? Oh well, it's probably just vaporware at this point...

That was about three years ago
I would like to go back and play that one, I think I got it as a free download on PS4, played a couple worlds and never went back to it.
Same. Got it for free, played maybe 5 levels, and thought of other things I'd rather be playing. No knock on the game, I just wasn't in the mood for its style at that time. Some day.

They do?
In terms of Meat Boy, I finally picked it up on sale sometime last year, and played through the first couple of worlds, but got massively sidetracked going for completionism... I should just play through the whole game first.

Same as you both. Played a handful of levels and decided there were better games to use my time on, rather than dying 9,000 times.

yes exactly this, i love games with extra unlockables but this one is kind of out of control imo.
Very fun game but i am on world 4 and it is a grind doing the light/dark stages, getting a+ on all of them, finding the band aids, portals etc. its kinda a chore

What the hell is The Binding of Isaac?
Also, I did the same thing Arch, I do it with lots of games actually.

It is a "rogue-like" twin stick shooter that has a lot of layout/design elements akin to Legend of Zelda. (style of the rooms, keys/doors, shops, map, etc)
It has a lot of solid challenge BUT, I would present the following complaints:
1) the controls feel like a flash game (in a bad way) -- they are way too slippery, and projectile momentum can do some unusual things
2) the developer uses the game as an EXTREMELY heavy-handed platform against religion (to the point of being obnoxious)
3) the game is full of gross-out-for-the-sake-of-gross-out (vagina-enemies that shoot blood laser beams, etc)
It is the kind of thing that would have been "cool" at age 12 or 13, but as an adult, it is just overdone in the extreme.
If you're an acheivement completionist, the game has a lot of really tough gameplay to offer.
But as a roguelike enthusiast, the underlying mechanics are pretty easy to "solve" in a way that makes the game a bit boring.
(and as an additional gripe... until you solve the mechanics, the game feels like you can't ever DO anything -- it really swings from one extreme to the other -- that is, the learning curve is practically a single-step steep plateau, where you go from total ignorance to god-like omniscence)
