I've been a long time lurker, as the NES was and still is the greatest Video game console/ system ever. I'm 28 and live in Nashville TN.. I'm not as big into collecting as I once was, but I still enjoy the thrill of the hunt..
Introduction post in 2012. I listed my top 5 consoles and most of the systems I recalled playing. It's interesting to see how my views have changed over the years because my list would look different today.
Cliffs: Started out refurbishing NES consoles and parting out game lots over summer 2008, then started to become a collector with the profits by fall. Spoke with NGD via his website and he referred me here, so I decided to join.
Looks like it was a WTB thread for Toxic Crusaders -
"Looking to buy Toxic Crusaders for NES - game must work and labels be intact with no ware. If it is CIB I might buy depending on price. Must be able to ship to Canada."
We used to have an all encompassing introduction thread and I believe my first post was on there (12/2/2008). Couldn't find any earlier posts.

My name is Robbie. 23. I'm a collector from the St. Louis area. I wrote/publish a NES price guide and rarity list (Dr. Robbie's NES Price Guide and Rarity List). It's now in it's third edition, but I should be updating it soon for 2009.
I have around 525 different NES games and maybe 20 or so odd controllers. I mostly look for interesting games like Hong Kong Cartridge Company Carts, odd multicarts and odd older pirated carts. And of course newer stuff like Retrozone stuff and Electrokraft carts (great stuff). And I always love reading about newly found games and such. Just made my first cart today of Adventure of Valkyrie Legend of the Time Key (I cheated though, I don't have an EEPROM burner, so I used a Gyromite converter with a Famicom cart. :-P - works though).
I didn't introduce myself, just went straight for it:
"I recently came across a few NES games still in the factory plastic with hang tabs, price tags, and all. Judging by prices on eBay I figure at least one of them (Urban Champion) is pretty rare. Is it worth it to get them appraised by VGA or try to sell without? Realistically how much is it worth in the end? Thanks guys."
I wrote a pretty big post in the intro section, and at the time was collecting GameCube. I was mistaken as a Blooper 2.0 (and ironically that is now my avatar)
Yea. I remember typing this out in my old house. Didn't realize that this 1 post would start a series of life changing events. I posted it right after registered. I had just got serious about collecting video game.
Hello everyone
I have been collecting games since the ripe old are of 4. Yep good old 1989 is when my brother and I got our first Nintendo . I remember it like yesterday and happily I still have all our old stuff. Sadly I i had to retire the old Nes due to the savage beatings my older brother used to drop on it ( then me if i said anything ). I still remember my heart breaking as my mom threw out all the nes boxes, but at least she kept the game manuals. I built up a solid game collection growing up but it wasn't until a few years ago i started to actually collect and hone in on my collection. i have always been obsessed with price guides and the rarity of collectables, and im glad that i have found this site. Believe it or not the Avgn and the other reviewers from Retroware Tv were huge influences on me collecting video games again. Im looking forward to meeting everyone and the special person that is gonna sell me a complete Earthbound for $50 canadian, thank you in advance
I'm somewhat of a collector - mainly out for games that I like and want to have/own. My main consoles are xbox 360, NES and Super NES.
My list of consoles are:
RetroDuo (got it since I don't have an actual NES)
3 SNES's
2 XBOX 360's
Wii
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
Sega Genesis Model 1
Sega CD (if I can ever find it... hmmm)
PS2
Gameboy Advance
Nintendo Gamecube (currently being shipped to me... I hope lol)
I come from DP, but as anyone who is a regular there knows, the forums are down with no ETA on coming back up. I was a new guy there mid August, and I'm hoping this place is fairly the same community wise.
I hate being the new guy, but since I joined to make an offer on some games, I figured I might as well become part of the community
-------
A little about me:
I'm 28, single, like long walks on the beach.... ha, kidding. I'm an IT guy, who also does graphic design and web development. I love coding, as nerdy as that sounds. I play guitar - was in a moderately successful band a few years ago, but now just play for my own enjoyment. I bough a house last year which tied up a lot of my funds, but now that things have settled, I'm beginning to pick up some gaming items. I'm a big RPG fan, and I hate FPS (though I can be caught playing Modern Warfare 2 occasionally. I'm a Squeenix fanboy, sadly, but I don't stick to just their games.
Aside from that, I'm pretty laid back.
Anyways, that's enough for an introductory post haha
Paul was the first response. Bet he wishes he wasn't so nice now!

Hi all! I'm new to the forums, I came across this ad this morning. Looks pretty cool but a bit pricy for me. The owner lives in Brooklyn. What do you guys think?
Is it me or does the Power Pak cart look empty? And I've never seen the NES 1985 cart (looks like the grail) I think that just lights up like the 8 bit xmas carts.

I had no idea you were a fan of Toxic Crusaders
I doubt anyone is a fan of Toxic Crusaders... the games or the show. But the Toxic Avenger movies are awesome.
Hello all, I'm a huge RPG afficionado, but my life has forced me to move a lot and I lost many rare and valuable games in the process. Now that my life has settled down, I'm doing my best to reclaim my youth.
Unfortunately the world of game collecting has become far more cutthroat than I remember--There's a lot of sharks out there just looking to buy and resell for profit.
At any rate I just got started collecting on October 22nd. I'm also one of the devs from retroachievements.org. Nice to meet you!

Yep, I wrote an intro and had posted pictures of my collection for the NES to date.
Same here

Coming up on six years ago, man time flys!
But without doing that, I'm like 99% sure it was an introduction thread.
