Nintendo 3DS Vs PS Vita
I've seen the Vita gettin alot of love lately and the 3DS seems to get alot praise still so which is your preferred system between the two?
I love both and have had both since launch but i definitely play the 3DS more. I think if the Vita would of had better first party support i would have been more into it. 3DS has a better line up of games in my opinion, though i do love the crisp oled screen on the original Vita more than the 3DS screens. I know theres alot of niche titles & rpgs on Vita but most of them aren't really my style. I can't tell you the last time i got a game for it or was excited about 1 or even picked up the system to play while I'm still as excited as ever about 3DS and continue to pick up games for it and play it regularly. Have around 85 titles for 3DS and only 25 or so for Vita.
Anyways, was curious how everyone else felt so we'll leave it to a poll! Feel free to argue your point and stick up for your favorite! May the best system win!

And the 3DS pulls ahead right out of the gate! I guess this is "Nintendo" Age after all!
I think the Vita is really awesome for people who enjoy Japanese games and downloadable titles, but less so for those who don't. What's your favorite Vita game so far?

I really liked Uncharted Golden Abyss and Little Big Planet Vita! They both utilized most of the Vitas capabilities and power! Had alot of fun with Little Big Planet. Some of the mini games were really fun to play with multiple people. I think the Air Hockey was my favorite. You just turn the system to side and a person can play on each end! Thought that was pretty neat. Thought the same about Tearaway since it used most all of the Vitas functions and was fresh and unique!
Ys Memories of Celceta is probably my favorite RPG on the system. Really enjoy those games!
3ds has backwards compatibility with thousands of ds games and has a decent library itself. The internet and video capabilities are a joke but the 3d effects are ok, and the 2 screens is always good on games that make use of it. Lastly, the 3ds has all the nintendo published exclusives.
So my answer is both are fine each in their own ways. I think ds and 3ds are a different arena than psp and vita to be honest.
Never played Vita. Only titles that have drawn my interest are ports of Ninja Gaiden and Disgaea titles. Whereas the 3DS library is to die for
You said it! And i feel its because it has solid 1st party support! If it only had the handful of rpgs and whatever i dont feel it would be as strong but Nintendo has released a solid line up for it. Im sort of getting sick of Sony's lackluster approach to 1st party game support! Why even go through with creating and releasing the Vita if you weren't going to continue to make great games for it. They barely tried! Didnt satisfy their wallets out the gate so they abandon it? Pretty lame! They even came out and said they were lacking in 1st party PS4 games as well! Was probably due to them trying to pump out VR but still. I mainly buy these systems for good 1st party games and feel its somethin Sony needs to focus on more. I known it takes alot to make new IPs but how about investing in more new game developers to make great games for your systems instead of more hardware you may not even support.
Vita is 200 titles mostly rpg, limited run indie titles, and high quality sony releases with a good storefront and much better quality web browser and video resolution. Its also region free so can play any vita cart.

You make some good points! But which did you vote for!?
For playability, I prefer the Vita (looks more clear, bigger screen). Unfortunately not a ton of game support and seems RPG heavy (yuck).
yes, rpg heavy kills the Vita for me. I have owned my Vita since the day of release and only own Final Soldner and Xeodrifter. I do have some downloaded games also. For the most part, the library is not good for someone like me.
I was all in on 3DS but was largely disappointed. 3D gimmick got old fast, tiny ugly looking screen, a d-pad worse than the 360. Super Mario 3D Land and Link Between worlds were great but the rest of the library was a letdown. Kingdom Hearts, Yoshi's Island, Tri Force Heroes, Metroid, and Castlevania should have made this the best system ever but all ended up mediocre/bad. Rest of the library is all ports or rpgs. At least it plays DS games because the 3DS library is lacking.
Vita all day. The big OLED screen blew me away. Having a second stick right from the get go was a huge boon. Great first party games: Gravity Rush, Killzone Mercenary, Uncharted, Dragon's Crown, Soul Sacrifice, Tearaway and a ton of indie goodness.

This what i was lookin for! Was hoping there would be good arguments on both sides. Not going argue your points as i can sort of agree with some of them. I wasn't over the moon for Yoshi's New Island but I'll just rebuttal slightly by saying there are other good games besides rpgs and ports and the ones mentioned. Both Kirby games are solid, Luigis Mansion Dark Moon, and a great line up of Mario games to name a few.

Yeah, honestly my PSP gets more play than my Vita does.
Although tearaway looks kinda neat

Word.
I still voted for Vita, though. Mine is hacked l and I play way more NES than I do 3DS. Also, Nintendo stopped producing 3DS Classics, which was half the reason I purchased one in the first place.
Also Also, Vita has Earth Defense Force 2017!
I can't believe the 3DS is winning on Nintendo Age!!!!!!!

The Vita coming from a PSP is one of the biggest disappointments for me. Trash library compared to the PSP. Ask people what you should buy on the Vita and 10/10 say P4G like it is some hidden gem and they can't name anything else.
The 3DS was a disappointment compared to the DS as well, but it still has a solid library.
The Vita is one of the worst platforms ever imo.

I'm not sure if the six of us could make that much of s difference. Especially since I prefer the 3DS.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to give the Vita the chance it deserves. Just now I went through the first 7 pages of Vita game on Amazon and only saw 2 games I would be interested and Marvel vs Capcom 3 was around $40 used. I'm just not big in RPGs and JRPGs. I was kinda hoping the Vita would have been what the PSP was to the PS3 to where it was a cheaper alternative with similar gameplay but it ended up being pretty steep in price for games that, frankly Id rather play on the PS4/PS3.
Can someone who voted PS Vita tell me what games they like on it? The only game I'd play is that digimon game. There are well over 20 great 3DS games on the other hand, so I'm just curious.
DOA 5+
Men's Room Mayhem
Angry Birds
lots of freebie PS Plus stuff
lots of crossbuy PS3/PS4 stuff
3DS
Pros:
Nintendo
Great first party games
Backwards compatible with DS titles
Multiple designs you can pick from (3DS XL or just graphical changes on the 3DS it's self like the LoZ version)
Cons:
3D is a gimmick most of the time and gives me migraines
The "new" 3DS just left a bad taste in my mouth with it's exclusives (not a ton of exclusives but annoying)
Only a handful of nice limited editions I would ever want to own
It's a modern Nintendo console...so it has a ton of shovel wear on it
Region locked
Vita
Pros:
RPG heaven
Limited Run Games turning stupid digital games into lovely physical games
NOT REGION LOCKED!!!! IMPORTS!!!!!!
Some really nice exclusives
TONS of limited editions that I would love to own
And glancing at the online store...a lot more choice for games then the 3DS I find...if your into downloading games
Cons:
Unless you import the handheld or get a bundle, there's not a lot of choice for different colors/variations on the actual handheld (ugly black)
No manuals!!!! WTF...I mean I know everyone is getting rid of manuals but at least Nintendo sometimes puts a manual in a 3DS game
Not a ton of support for the Vita in the Western market...meaning it's pretty much dead now (at least first party wise)
Limited amount of GOOD first party games when compared to the 3DS (but that's the case of any console VS Nintendo I think)
That's MY pros and cons. They both have something to offer...it just depends on what kind of gamer you are. The Vita is more RPG, JRPG, Visual Novel heavy then the 3DS. And the 3DS has more platformers, action/adventure games then the Vita. A part of me almost feels like I should have bought the Vita before I bought the 3DS because I like visual novels and RPGs more. And it's a better handheld for the collector (all those wonderful limited edition games!!!). But I bought the 3DS because...Nintendo. I figured it would have all the typical good games on it (Zelda, Mario, Kirby...) which it did.
I'm also seeing a lot more support for the Vita via third party companies like LRGs and well known companies like NIS America are still making games for it even though Sony is axing the Vita here in America. I think Nintendo is a bit too controlling for something like that to happen...so even after the head company pulls the plug, people will still try to support the Vita. I think that is a huge plus for the Vita, it'll still have several years of life left in it.

Corpse Party
Freedom Wars
Psycho-Pass
Root Letter
Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero
And I haven't even gotten to the other 10 games I own for it yet...oh wait 11...I just got One Way Heroics on eBay.
And I'm just starting my collection...so I don't have a ton of games, but there are a TON of games on my wish list for it. 55 so far actually...and counting as I'm always uncovering new games I want. VS the 31 games I own for the 3DS and the 47 on my wishlist.
So amount of game wise...it's close.
