Mario & Luigi: Dream Team have a subliminal meaning?
*Warning Possible Spoilers* If you have never played the game and intend too.
Ok so I've been playing this game for oh about 3 hours now and in this short time I feel like someone who had a hand in creating this game might have tried to slip in some deeper meaning to some of it.
A few examples:
- The first time you can influence things in the dreamworld by manipulating Luigi's body via the touchscreen. Prince Dreambert says that Luigi has gained a "higher conciousness" which is something very common in meditation, eastern culture, inner spirituality, Buddhism and a whole other world of crazy stuff, including other things I noticed below.
- Another thing that Prince Dreambert said was something along the lines of "I cannot see it with my minds eye." which would refer to "The Third Eye" or "Chakras" and again is commonly known in Buddhism.
- The first time you encounter Brock Brickle in Luigi's dreamstate he doesn't know ya'll and is mentioned it is probably because he is created by Luigi's subconcious: This could reference a few things with "The Mandela Effect" being the first coming to mind.
- Illo in Latin translates to "Illustration" which if you look at the full definition can mean "to clarify something"
- The way Broque Monsieur speaks: Zee - a character in The Matrix (again tied to Mandela Effect) and Zen - Well used/known through Buddishm.
I'm sure I will come across more stuff as the game progresses but I mainly just wanted to see if anyone else picked up anything like this? I will admit the meanings I mentioned above are things that have interested me in the last year or so. Mainly just Inner Spirituality and reaching a state of higher consciousness but well it all basically ties in together.
Your friendly, not as crazy as you probably think I am now, forum member,

I was following during the Buddhism references etc but you lost me near the end. Then you totally went off the rails in that last bit
It wouldn't surprise me at all to see eastern mysticism trickled into a Nintendo game that was designed in Japan.
Agreed it also wouldn't surprise me, though I'll admit this is the first Nintendo and Mario game I've ever played that hinted on anything like this. Though as I mentioned in the last year or so this is stuff I've studied up on and read about so it wouldn't surprise me if I'm just now seeing these kinda things.

Technically, SMB2 (USA) was a dream...
