What bothers me is if I can pickup Zelda on WiiU for $60, then there's no real incentive for me to buy a Switch until Mario.
I guess it depends if you don't mind playing a port. According to reports, the WiiU version has numerous hiccups; especially poor draw distance and has a very hard time hitting 30fps.

wouldnt the Switch version be the port? This game has been in development for years.

So has the Switch? Could certainly be wrong, but I read recently that a lot of it was ported over.

If I had to guess, they have been developing this game longer than the switch.
Finished the video and still laughing. Will never get that zelda game. Seeing real humans in a Mario game reminds me of sonic, and the way the world shit on him. Hopefully the pro controller is good because the "share the joy" controller looks cheap. Was expecting a LOT better than this.

When I heard "share the joy" all I could think about was hispter trophy kids being excited about it.
Well, I'm off to Gamestop to reserve mine. Judging by the fact online preorders haven't sold out yet, I don't suspect a crowd outside the door. How early should I get there? One hour before open? Two hours?
I'm only reserving Zelda and a Pro controller. The rest of launch game stuff can wait for reviews...
So I procrastinated and thought I'd try to preorder one now, seems to be sold out at GS, Wal-mart, Best Buy. The links that are showing you as "Pre Order" won't let you actually pay for or select shipping on the item.

I went ahead with a Target.com preorder on the console and paid the $15 for release date delivery. I was hoping to get it thru Amazon so that'd be free but I guess I can't be picky right now.
That was one of the worst system launch press conferences I have ever seen.
Instead of breaking the mold Nintendo doubled down on motion and gimmick BS. Granted I say all of that and pre-ordered on but that lineups of games was pitiful.
Zelda and Mario looked great, but I didn't see one game that couldn't have came out on Wii U. All the new tech is in the portable screen/tablet and the new motion controls.
That presentation was painful to watch. I would be embarrassed if I was Nintendo. Game after game only talked about....nothing shown.
Splatoon remastered, Mario Kart remastered, Smash Bros remastered, all should have been day one launch games. Just ports to hold people over.
I guarantee Mario gets pushed into 2017. Graphics and having the most powerful console is not essential, but important.
Nintendo could have spent less money on the Joy Con controllers and put more tech into the machine itself. My kids will love being able to take the tablet with them, but the accessories prove all the money for this console went into the Joy Cons and Tablet.
Where are the crappy annual 3rd party games like COD, Battlefield, and others that might drag the casual gamer into Nintendo? Oh, there was a 6 year old Skyrim game available. Pfffftttt!!!!!
Eventually, us the hardcore will die and the MAJORITY of the Nintendo hardcore with us. The Wii won because it was something totally new and mainly price.
The argument can be made that Nintendo will never take the home console crown ever again. But they could create a Wii like phenomenon to ride along side Sony and Microsoft. But to do that price would be key. $299 is way too much.
$250 would have been a huge difference in perception and at $199 even with this horrible presentation....Switch would have flew off the shelves.
Nintendo should be embarrassed with themselves.....as a life long fan and supporter I was.....

No they don't. Says pre-order but it's not available at any of the stores. Feel like a dumbass for actually going to sleep after the presentation now.
Edit: Most of the stores anyhow. Had to order the gray at a store 120 miles away. I figured I can cancel if I find it before release.
eb games website is super slow right now... guessing lots of traffic.

Well shipping was available when I looked at it.
Christ, I had a dream last night I slept in and missed the preorders. What kinda nerd dreams about stuff like that.

Amazon just put up the standard edition for the Switch. I grabbed a preorder in case I don't get a special edition.
