Blade buster is super fun. Short and sweet but you can spend some time with it.
I can't recommend Blade BUster enough personally.
Give it a go, it's only 5 minutes, but once you're hooked, you're hooked.
Still waiting on someone to top my high score.
/waits for a wild Mog to appear!
Did they make a physical cart?
There are repro makers who do, it was never officially released on a cart though. However based on my limited translation abilities, it appears that the programmer/creator was okay with the game being made onto a cart.
I personally have a copy someone was nice enough to put on a cart for me ....
I've been meaning to get a copy too. I've been playing it on the PowerPak but I can't get it to jive with the AVS scoreboard. Just found this site that sells a repro for under $15 with free shipping. (7-20 days to ship?): http://m.banggood.com/Blade-Buste...
If they are using version2 of the ROM it still won't work with AVS/Scoreboard!

That kind of looks like my cart, except it's a lighter gray front label and has a gold label on back. I think mine was made from a donor sports game.
1) Hit select twice when the game starts to make your ship move faster. It defaults to speed 1 which blows, speed 3 is better once you get used to it.
2) Find all the hidden bunnies for bonus points.
3) Kill the ships that start in 4 pieces and come together in the middle of the screen for even more bonus points. 47 second mark in video below.
4) Don't die
5) If you beat Paul's score, you'd better post it and then send him a PM talking smack!!!!
6) Watch this video.
7) Look at 1:18 mark, see that bonus? There's two places in the game where you can get that bonus... If you get 80K you have newer rom and it won't work with Scoreboard, if you get 50K it should work with scoreboard.
I mentioned it in passing to Adam (Dra600n) once sometime ago he should try to make one for Genesis. Hope he's still thinking about it. Rest of you brewer's should attempt one too.
Blade Buster is awesome l, do wish it had more to it tho.

The neat thing about a Genesis vertical shooter would be using the 3 buttons as different fields-of-fire.
That is, either A and C act as left/right side firing with B as forward-fire.
Or maybe they act as directional fire for a turret, where only one can really act, at a time.
There was one called Cyo that was done by user awhile back.
Thanks! Appreciated!
The game is an entry into the category 1 of the NES Dev Competition edition 2016 (today should be the big day!, concluding a definitely very busy and intense NES coding related month for myself!).
It is simple and spartan looking, but the mechanics work well, so for anyone who likes this kind of games and has some free time to spend, it should be pretty fun to play or just try out. If someone missed it when it was uploaded at first in year 2015, you can download the ROM for free now from the official thread of the game, here on NA Brewery:
Yes, the game does have an ending, and NA user Mog was the first one to defeat it on real hardware. For less extremely skilled players, it is quite challenging and exhausting to get to the end.
If you try it out, your opinion about the game (in such thread) is of course appreciated.

If you need version 1 which works with Scoreboard/AVS, PM me and I can email it to you...

Note the rom on the website is version 2 which has a different scoring system and won't work with the scoreboard/AVS scoring if you are using it.

I was wondering about that. PM incoming.
And I, too, own a Blade Buster cart. Woooooo. Such an awesome game.
Paul sux.
Thanks for the interest in my non-vertical shooter, everyone.

edit: oh, that one has repro shells. Two screws.
