I still have my gameboy prize and only turned it on to see if it worked, other than that, it is in original condition. I can post photos, but have sad news as the unit does not have any markings or brandings from surge. It is simply a green gameboy pocket. I do not have any other green units to compare to so I can not say for certain if the hue is unique to the "surge" brand or not.

I don't know if anyone gave a direct reply but I won a game boy pocket from this contest when I was about 9. My mom submitted it and it was delivered by ups. I got a standard dark green game boy pocket (nothing special and it certainly didn't say surge anywhere on it) and it came with the game wave race.
I wouldn't have given the game boy to a friend if it would have been a special edition or numbered lol.
