SNES Super Mario World bundle Box

Hi, I've search ebay and everywhere else I can think of and I think the box I have is rare in this condition.  I have an almost perfect Super Nintendo Super Mario World bundle box, styrofoam, and paperwork.  Can you all help me out?  I looks like the price skyrockets if it's in this condition.  I'm disabled and poor and can really use some money.

  • Very nice box. For box, stryo and paperwork it definitely has collector value, but not a ton without the system I'd imagine. Nice piece, I'll let the pros chime on specifics.

It depends on how soon you needs the funds- the higher your asking price is the longer it will take to sell. If you list it on eBay for $250-$300 it should sell fairly quickly. If you don't mind waiting a few weeks you could try listing it for higher. I don't see it selling for more than $400-$500.
  • Off to VGA with it! lol
  • Side question, would it be worth it for the owner to find a pristine SNES to go with it, so that Sell value + cost of PERFECT SNES < Sell Price of entire package?
  • That is a beautiful box. I'd make an offer if I had the dough right now.

Thanks for the help.  I knew I had a gem in here just didn't know what it was worth.  I'm going to go the patient route and try to get a good price for it.

Interesting.  Your question got me thinking about it.

  • For the upper fringe of collector attention that this would likely attract, I doubt adding the console would add much more value than the console itself. It's almost always better to bundle when you're dealing with one that has more shelf wear, but everyone interested in paying a premium for this is likely to have multiple SNES consoles and will not likely factor additional value beyond the cost of the console (my line of thinking, anyway). The exception would be if the serial number matched a card that many have on the back.

well said. I'm leaning that way myself. A decent SNES isn't hard to find, may need a clean but other than that no big deal. Can't really clean up a shitty box
  • Thanks again for the advice. I have posted a thread in the Seller forum and I'm taking offers.
  • I'd love to have a box like this, or even one is worse condition. I fringe upon the thought of it getting shipped. I think I'd want to build a wooden box to ship it in (think leg lamp box from A Christmas Story).
