So I completed a Wii set.

  • Very nice! Were you on Metal Jesus's YouTube displaying this collection? There was a guy with a complete Wii collection in one of his videos and his setup looked a lot like yours.
  • Freaking crazy collection. Saw this on Reddit.

  • I can't wait to complete my GB cart set, and I actually considered starting to go for a DS set because it's in the same "slump" I'd assume, as the Wii.

Your room is so neat. All of my games are neatly stacked in a big, but short, Amazon box. I want my actual setup to look like this in a couple of years. Grats on the journey! My only question now is, what's next?

Im not sure a GB cart set will take up quite as much space  Good luck if you want to go for DS, library is even larger than the wii

Can't really get 'em at Gamestop like Wii games since they almost always throw out boxes. But I gotta appreciate the people who go for insane sets like these

Where I'm at its the same deal with Wii, I was looking through the cheap bin and there may have been one game with a real case, the rest was that generic printed off crap. Its definitely going to get tougher as time goes on

  • Congratulations Twizer! You beat me!
  • Any hidden gem suggestions? I have a list of about 100 Wii games that I want to own (I have about half of them now) but you probably know about some of the obscure but good games.
  • Does Guilty Gear Accent core xx control as poorly as the other Guilty Gear on the Wii?

I know this might seem off topic, but if it doesnt then its not only rare but a solid game as well.
  • Not to be a stickler, but it looks as if your copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy is missing the outer sleeve, so we're gonna have to call this collection MOSTLY complete   Seriously though congrats. I can't image the time it would take to put that together, and it looks fantastic!
  • Maybe this has already been answered in the thread, but you state that you don't consider the Netflix disc as needed for completion. Later, the Netflix disc appears in your top 100 rare games. Are you just counting in that list as a rare item that goes along with the Wii even if it is not needed for a full set in your opinion?

Also, have you played them all yet?

I had a big number of Wii games but then mine died and I kind of stopped caring. I really should pick up another one for Gamecube and to play my games again. I'd really love to play The Last Story.

Is your next adventure the Wii U?

haha, at the rate he completed this I think he could have a Wii U set done by the end of the week

Ha, 1/10th the library.  Sounds like a nice change.  I'll probably wait until prices drop down on the Wii U.  Maybe after the Switch has been out for awhile.

The guy you are talking about is Kacydagamenerd.  He's a good guy, really great collection.  He helped me with my Wii masterlist.

oh boy, can't wait to read them comments
  • I'm sorry, but this is hilarious:

" As a collector myself (definitely not Wii though), I can say that this guy is an idiot. There's literally over 1,000 horrible games for the Wii. Any collector who collects just to have shelf candy you never play is a tool. Guys like this ruin it for the collectors who are gamers and just want games to play. The fact that his top priority was to list all the rare games (look at me, I have stuff you don't have!) proves what a douche he is. And look at those "rare" games. Nothing but turds. And this guy is proud of it.

Also, he probably paid double what this collection will be worth in 10 years. Wii games, especially the really bad ones, are NOT easy to find - because they're locked away in grandma's attic. You don't see many Wii games at pawn shops or flea markets (where you'd get a deal). He bought most of these online and shipping alone would cost him more than about 800 of these will ever be worth. Eventually, all these shovel Wii games will be all over the place, but you don't run out and do a full set for a console that's barely a decade old. That's just stupid.

Guys like this are the reason prices for retro games have gone up. He couldn't find any, so he decided he'd go for the worst collection in gaming history. Screw this guy. This garabge will be on Ebay within a year."

Ha, so much anger.  Yeah, I read a couple and then stopped.  It's all good stuff.  Normally anytime I see my collection posted on websites or social media I'll jump into the comment section and join in  "this is a terrible collection" or "this guy is a virgin"  (don't tell my wife or four kids) it's always a fun time.
  • I can't believe how fast that Data East Collection shot up in price. A year or so ago I decided to pillage all the Gamestops to get all the uncommon Wii games before they stopped selling them and it took me forever to find Klonoa but I saw Data East Collection everywhere for like 1.99

I'm with him on the whole "owning 1000 horrible games is stupid" thing but I don't understand how that ruins it for people who want to play them. I mean if he played and completed all these games would that somehow make the price go down for other collectors? Like, he already bought the games, what difference does it make in terms of the price of games whether he plays them or not?
  • What a story and collection. Congrats.
  • Congrats all around on completing the wii set now the hard part finding all the variants yikes! Kidding aside it's always a breath of fresh air to see long time members aka the "OG" dispute on the moral standards and obligations on how a game collector should behave because much like war nothing ever changes and opinions never become facts because wisdom often takes a back seat to moral shenanigans haha

the best part was how he paid double what this Collection will be worth in ten years, yet he's still the reason retro games are so expensive
