  • I'm going to win the powerball tomorrow!
  • I won a lower 2-figure sum once (Can't remember exactly how much, I think it was 30).

I almost never buy any sorts of lottery tickets though, saving up on the little money I make on my part time job is a much better investment
  • Now is the time to stop playing. You beat the system. Let it stay that way
  • I play occasionally for fun and I dream of winning big. But the most I've won is like $50.
  • The best thing I ever won must have been a free ticket... my only gambling success story is when I visited the casino in Dieppe, I threw one euro to what was kind of like a roulette table with a large ball, and won
  • For some reason I thought a member here was interviewed for this article: http://www.avclub.com/article/i-got-4-bikes-2-nickelodeon-super-toy-run-winners--217394

but maybe it was just a shared link. Anyway I think the Nickelodeon toy run beats you guys' lottery stories.

Very cool read, thanks for sharing!  I always dreamed of winning this when I was a kid.

As we all did. *le sigh*

  • Hey, that's pretty good, Justin! Good score!
  • I used to do scratch offs once in awhile, won $40 at best on the $2 kind.

Here in Taiwan they have an invoice lottery every two months (I need to check my receipts for the past two months, actually, glad to remember this). Grand prize equals out to around 30 000 USD I guess. Every receipt has numbers built into it, check the numbers against the winning numbers at the end of every two months, see if you've won anything. This lottery was set up to counter against stores not giving out receipts to underdeclare sales for tax fraud.

I always keep my receipts, it's free, and at my best I won around $150 USD.
  • ^That is a brilliant idea. I wish they did that here.
