The new Marvel comics are supposed to be canon. They're all quite good, the Vader ones are fantastic. That scene in Rogue One really allowed him to do all the badass shit he was capable of. Revenge of the the Sith showed just how evil he could be to try and save this family. I think his last scene in ROTJ was and still is his best moment when he finally cast aside the thing he had become to save his son. That was badass dad shit right there. Oh and the Rogue One castle he had was pretty damned chill.

I think Palapatine/Sidious is just laughable. He doesn't seem menacing. And I guess it's not really the actor's fault. He comes from theater so overacting is what they do to be super expressive so every sees the spectacle... That just doesn't transition well to film. Of course Lucas thought it was fucking amazing, though. I just looked at him and wondered why I was supposed to take him seriously.
