I dont know how the sports game lobbys are set up. There are still active madden 13 wii u players. Dont have nba 2k13 to test it out.
  • It won't be dead next year or the year after, I have no idea where people are getting the idea that the WiiU has failed so hard that it would warrant them discontinuing it.

I only got my WiiU early this year, but feel its too early for the next console.

    New Nintendo condole next year?

Will it be a home console?

Is it just me or did WiiU not get a decent chance?

Yep, put a fork in it.

Yeah, Wii U is probably my favourite console since SNES. I've had more time and money to invest into the console than the GC and Wii, but even still I think it would still trump those consoles in my opinion. Having said that I agree that Zelda will likely be a launch title for the NX and the Wii U stuff will likely taper off late next year into 2017. I couldn't care less if someone doesn't own a Wii U, but I think they are missing out on some great games if that's the case.

Called it a year ahead of time!

  • Wow how wild is it to read through this thread lmao some pretty accurate speculation! I sure love my Wii U (on my 2nd) and sad to see it so quickly disappear from stores. However, incredibly stoked for the Switch.
  • I just got a Wii U a few weeks ago and I'm loving it, even with its limited library! Lots of instant classics, and a good chance to catch up on all the good Wii games too (never got around to the Wii back in the day   ). Just a shame that 3-year old games are still so pricey

Yeah, my brother bitches about that too and I don't blame you guys. He collected a lot of GBA/DS stuff and was use to buying games for $5 or less. Very few games on the Wii U are under $20 and easy to find, especially the first party games that are still near original retail pricing.
  • The Wii U is kinda dead to me in a way after my USB flashstick (expanded storage) with all my important saves shitted out on me last night without a backup.

Is it completely gone. I've had it not read my external storage a handful of times, but after a few reboots, it'll pick up the data again. I've sinced back up my data though. It happens with my LAN adapter as well. I won't be able to connect to the internet once in a while and just restart the Wii U a few times after disconnecting and reconnecting the USB.

If it is truly gone, I could definitely see how that would take the wind out of your sails. I've lost a few games on other consoles due to faulty batteries and would move on to another game.
  • If I boot the Wii U w/ problematic USB stick inserted, it boots to the Home menu and the blue USB symbol will appear in the lower left corner as normal. However, none of the USB flashstick's contents show up as tiles in my home menu (ie. virtual console games) and games like Xenoblade X no longer recognize my saves stored on the USB stick. I can play disc and/or digital games (internal storage) just fine though.

If I open Settings>Data Management>Copy/Move/Delete Data, a "Preparing" window appears, then BOOM I get error code 150-3032 (remove any game disks and reboot Wii U). Tried every USB port, same thing.

No one including Nintendo of America's forum tech knows what causes the error nor do they know a solution. But pretty much every user has narrowed it down to USB external storage of any kind failing or going corrupt. It's pretty disheartening when every thread involving this error just ends up admitting defeat.

And this is why I hate external storage for game data. Everyone says, "just buy a hardrive or flash stick"

Well shit like this happens randomly.

Been reading deep into the save game/data backup topic and my god Nintendo went the hypersecure route after the hackathon known as Wii.

What irks me the most is the kind of decisions the Wii U's OS makes by default such as "all data gets copied to external storage" and "save games cannot be copied independently from game data".

At the end of the day, it is my fault for not backing up my shit lol
