Where do you get those boxes to put manuals in?

I've seen several shot of cardboard boxes that people store their loose NES manuals in, kinda like baseball card boxes but bigger.  Where do you get those?  Comic or card shops?

  • special k protein water! go buy a case. the box is a perfect size. or any case of 12 bottled drinks would be fine too!
  • I'm partial to using the clear photo album pages in a 3-ring binder.
  • I use the free USPS boxes. The long one that is used for shoes/boots work the best. I cut them in half the long way and add a little tape on the ends so they dont fall apart. I have around 20 of them full right now. I also use the shirt boxes to hold all my loose Gameboy games and gamegear and they are perfect.

This seems to be the easiest, nicest displaying way I've come across.

I've been looking for a good way to store manuals lately so I'd be interested in seeing pictures of this. And, if the pages hold the manuals well, a bit of info on where to buy them.
  • I haven't made the leap to that storage method yet, myself, but there are pictures somewhere else in this side of the forums.

Basically, Ultra (and probably a few other brands) make poly sheets that hold the manuals PERFECTLY. The 2x2-slot sheets are perfect for standard NES manuals, and the 1x2-slot sheets hold tall manuals (Crystalis, Swords and Serpents, and SNES manuals). Office Depot or Staples should have them in the office supply section that carries presentation materials.
  • I've tried a ton of different methods, but personally I favor this one the best (shameless plug, lol):

I tried several different varieties of the Ultra sheets, and I didn't like any of them.  The 2x2's were a little too tight for my taste, and the next size up was way too big.  They're bulky, but toploaders are probably the next best choice for them, although they won't keep dust and stuff out.

The other thing I'm going to try for storing my extras and whatnot are these new manga storage boxes they've come out with at comic shops.  They're just about the right width to store manuals easily, although they're a bit deep.  Still, it's a nice low-cost alternative.
  • I use shoe boxes. Some are bigger than others, but some work.

My mom has some old shoe boxes for tiny little shoes (like high heeled shoes), those boxes work pretty well.
  • Thanks for the ideas, I was thinking about binders as well, but *if* you had all 677 manuals, how many binders would that be?
