Any Ideas What This Is? (NES Game)

Hello, i recently picked up this NES game at a pawn shop. When I turn the game on the title screen says that it's "Arkanoid II" There is no Arkanoid II for NES that I know of.  I cannot find this cart anywhere on the internet. Thinking it's an unreleased cart maybe? Hope you guys can help!

  • It looks like a pirate cart, at least that's my best guess..

Ver interesting though..  if you ever decide to sell it..  I'm sure there are many here who would be interested..  I know I am..
  • It's a pirate copy of Arkanoid.
  • looks like a pirate
  • Is there anyway to find out what a pirate cart may be worth? There's no real way to find out how many was produced.
  • Its pretty much worth what someone's willing to pay. The more interesting the pirate, the more its worth, but theres really no set value.
  • Arkanoid II was released for the Famicom, so it could very well be a pirate of that game (as opposed to an Arkanoid pirate).

It isn't worth a whole lot, but I would think an Arkanoid II pirate would be worth more than its predecessor due to the fact that it wasn't available for the NES. Could you snap a few gameplay photos so we can see which game it's a pirate of?
  • Here's a (highspeed) video of Arkanoid 2 for the Famicom:

Does this appear to be the version you have?

Sorry for the highspeed footage, but it's the only video I could find that had some of the intro.
  • Cart say HVC-001, so could be original Famicom cart... released in Hong Kong?
  • Brazilian carts come in black casings, don't they? I don't know much about pirate carts and the like, though.

No way.  I don't think there's a HK Arkanoid (although I could be wrong), and if there were it would look a lot different than that cart.  This is most certainly a pirate cart.

Yeah, SOme brazilian carts come in this casing. Someone already saw a brazilian with a back label in chineese ?

  • This is just a pirate cart, probably of Arkanoid II (Fami version). I wouldn't put the value at probably more than $15 IMO, but who knows, someone might give you more for it.

Yes, the video looks like the same game I have. So is it a pirated version of Arkanoid II for the famicom that works on the NES?

  • Video Dean is a pretty well known pirate company from Japan. Most of their games have the LC-## code on them somewhere. I say it is worth 20-25 ish.

  • I'd give $20 shipped for it.
