Other half here. Played a few rounds... likely participation from me; my newborn is always camping out on what was once my game room... sigh lol

You two! I'm watching you Two with shifty eyes!
  • I should have practiced all the levels before spending all that time farming points every chance I could find... I didn't expect to die from falling in World 5 lmao.

Ah well. I'll try to get further tomorrow, and to screw up less on World 2. Some of those point racking spots in the desert are tough to pull off consistently!

  • son of a bitch. 3-8 big fish. i was gonna get 2 million tonight.

But my money is on tapeworm to win this thing. He wants the platformer icon.

im looking good for smb3 now but just wait till the actual good smb3 players show. where you at arnpoly?!!!

as far as the rest of the year. i wish you was rite mbd. but im terrible at contra. ive played star tropics maybe 15 min my whole life. played felix the cat maybe 10 min less than star tropics. might fare decent for vpd cause i like that game. but as far as winning the platformer this year..... not going to happen

Heh, the only ones I've played are Contra and VPD. I'm not great at Contra either but I won't mind practicing.

I had a VPD phase last year where I kept playing until I beat it without a game over. I might do okay with that one. Unfortunately I've probably forgotten almost everything because I haven't played it in months. Hopefully it all comes back to me.

Are you ready for Marble Madness?

i played marble mad a few times as a kid. i thibk i made it ti the second level.

  • I don't think I've ever played Marble Madness before, unless it was on one of those "arcade classics" games for the PS3. It LOOKS familiar, but I can't say for sure that I've played it before at all. Not looking forward to it lol, definitely not my kinda game.

Sorry I lied about retiring, everyone.  I just can't stay away!

This is all you'll get out of me this week.  Good attempts just take too long and this one wasn't even very good.  The last time we played this was the week before my daughter was born ... she turns 2 tomorrow!  I definitely had more time before kids entered the picture.

ah. touche sir. i do need a platform icon. i let one slip last year.

You know to be the man, you've got to beat the man.   As tough as it is to sit back and stay retired, it's great to see the contests continue to evolve every year with a new group of great competitors to carry the torch for the next generation.

i agree. oh btw you forgot one thing...wwwwwooooooo...!!!

Wrong gimmick. Old BCD was the original icon, showstopper, main event, icon and trash talker before there was a skinny tapeworm.

  • Wait, what?  Where are you?  There is obviously much about this game I don't know

300k, world 3... you know you can get 300k in stage 1-1 alone? This could save you time
  • Lets go again!

Hey, it's not my fault that I wasn't one of the legends that you invited to get to come back.

Well, it wasn't hard to see Gloves' score and know there was some sort of trickery possible.  But no, wont' happen because:

1 - I'm using no outside help this year

2a - I'm doing a max of 5 attempts of each game, or whatever it takes to get participation

    or

2b - I'm gunning for last place each week.  Haven't decided which is more fun

I can't remember what my best at point pressing 1-1 was the last time we played this, but I'm sure it wasn't 400k. I'd say low 300k at best.

My best so far this time is like 170k haha.

this is where you get the 3rd magic whistle. one of the boomerang brothers gives you a hammer for your inventory, you break the rock at the top of the screen to get here. the toad house also will always give you a frog suit

Wish you could trade power ups at the house. I hate the frog suit and would probably trade it for a goomba turd.
