You may already have it, but just thought I'd mention it FYI. Also, I assume that a non-1 UKV box hasn't been found yet?

There are multiple reasons why a non -1 UKV box won't exist

    Such as?

By definition of the PAL-A region, the game is a revision. So a "pure" -88-UKV is impossible. An -88-UKV-2(and up to -4) is also impossible due to the distributor at the timeframe of this game being released.
  • I saw this on Facebook today. Is it legit? I would kill for this. KIIIIILLLLL!

    Yep, it's legit.

If I ever had a dream item in this hobby that wasn't a "holy grail" it would be this. In fact...it is.
  • Regarding the finnish rental box, i'm pretty sure that the release from Yapon (Norway, Sweden and Danemark) is just as true. I wish i found a website that had more specific info about Yapon, but i think this was the official rental company for Nintendo in Scandinavia. They had tons of rental games for the NES. I also remember an article about them being featured in the official Nintendo magazine (Nintendo Magasinet) over here. Here is a link to a finished auction that shows picture of it: http://www.tradera.com/item/300801/271858440/tmnt-turtles-yapon-hyrbox-nintendo-8-bit-nes#view-item-main

And yeah, that Turtles NES edition is indeed real   Its "just" a cardboard sleeve over a normal NES Controller Deck by the way.
  • Yeah I saw that listing, which was just for the box, but did t buy it since everyone always says those are just rental boxes made up for that purpose. I have a CIB Devil World Yapon and everyone always talks shit about it.

I see. It should be original if its from Yapon. As someone mentioned under here, Yapon was owned by Bergsala, which was the official Nintendo distributor in Sweden at the time. Some of the games (or maybe all, i'm not sure) also had a sticker on the cart like this: http://i.imgur.com/lb32itZ.jpg

Great collection by the way!   I love Turtles for NES. The music and graphics are simply great, in my opinion. Turtles was also the first game that we bought for the NES (besides Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt that was included with the console), i remember it well.

All of that makes total sense though... here are pictures of my CIB Yapon Devil World next to my CIB SCN Devil World.

Here is the sticker on the side of the cart you mentioned...

And then notice on the original SCN release the poster and then on the directions sheet with the Yapon verison they both say "Bergsala AB".

Yeah, i'm not sure why someone would say that this version is homemade. Yapon was big here, definitelly the official rental company for NES games. And the sticker you posted a picture of says "rental fee payed", showing that the rental place has payed the fee to Yapon to be allowed to have rental service on this game.

  • I put this in the 1st post for overall record keeping as well.  Thought I had them all and then this popped up, but it's now safely assimilated into my collection!

*UPDATE 7/10/19* Well thanks to my good friend Pieter AKA Speedy who tipped me off to a seller in Greece... I worked a deal and now have to add to my list.  Thankfully this thing is in like new condition too.  Sadly the book has no code and the only difference in the box is the sticker on the front.  But the entire manual and registration card are completely in Greek.  So this "Greek" version is in the full set now for me and needed to have a complete PAL set.  Pics below.

  • Glad to see that you were able to strike a deal with the seller!

ETA:  The Greek code is generally GRE, but it is missing on a lot of manuals.
  • @braveheart are you trying to collect for all regions like this for all new games, or only tmht?

I was wondering when someone was going to snag that Turtles.

Are there any carts or boxes that have a GRE code, or is it just some manuals?

I've only seen it on manuals, most carts and boxes are GPS-coded.
