I'm going to bow out of this week now and take a break so I can enjoy some of my other games before getting another participation (probably) in Ice Hockey, and then give it my all on Life Force. If anything I plan on doing my best to take the shmup award, and hooopefully make it into the finals (there are finals, right?).

At least it's short. What's cheap as hell is that most of the courses have some ridiculous obsticle at the very end,like the ice bowl,or the hammers,and of course the cluster F at the end of the ultimate race.

I remember renting Life Force several times as a kid, but I always ended up going back to Contra. For whatever reason, when it comes to shooters, I seem to do a lot better at the run and gun style.
Finally had my first no-death run. No wands. Went into Ultimate with 99 and scored about 172,500. Not gonna post the pic just yet out of laziness, because I think I can do better once I start exclusively practicing Ultimate Race, and because it doesn't bump me up the scoreboard at all anyways (right now).
I stayed up late last night teaching myself how to complete the last section all in one go as soon as it starts. I can do it fairly regularly now, and that saves a lot of time on the last stage. I should be able to get over 170k as soon as I get there with 99 seconds and I don't choke.

Remeber that thing you said about "Is everyone and their kid brother going to get over 170k"... Well I'm starting to think 170k is going to be the standard just for getting top 8 it seems
