The turns are ramped so that you can jump them and land on the numbers on the side to get a bonus of 3k, 4k or 5k. (It looks like you can also get 6k but I've never done it or seen anyone do it. Maybe it's a tease.)

How silly of me.
I didn't make the connection about the button making you go faster until I got to the last level. The first part of it requires you to press the button to get going fast enough to make a jump. I finally got to the end and just kept dying.
The cool part of the jump is that you get 65 sec on the second race no matter how long it takes you finish. You can try a few times to get it and still be ahead.
Anger sums it up. Had to play in my spare room on my ancient little TV due to outside influences. Old TV=no HDMI=no AVS=my not being able to put this on the scoreboard.

I finally managed to beat the game without dying. Played at least once a day all week. Dreamed of marbles more than I care to admit. I had some sort of absolute miracle run, nothing could touch me. Sadly, no wands.
Landed at a bit over 150k. Nowhere near the top 8. xD

I can't believe the top 8. To put this in perspective, it's like a 1943 contest where everyone's getting over 2 million.

The cut out for 8th place is just too high. And the difference between the top 4 is really small. It is a thing of beauty!
