can i say again i HATE stage one. ive died on stage one 100 times (all loops). any other stage in the game maybe 10 deaths. FUCK STAGE ONE PIECE OF SHIT I HATE YOU.....FUCK.

I know that Bimmy and arnpoly can both break the 160k mark, so I'm sure there will be some really high scores. I can usually hit 164k-164.5k unless I just make a mistake. From what I've been able to tell, it's likely possible to legitimately hit 165k+, but I've never had the patience to do the math.

I am going to take a look at it today as well, after I get drunk past the point of wardrobe accidents.
Today was extremely shitty and stressful. Last thing I want to do is to look into more code after spending a good deal of my day coding. Marble Madness and 6502 ASM will have to wait till tomorrow.

You think it's tied to having a certain number in a certain digit column?
when you kill the first arm you always have the same score. if you killed all tge saucers.
I'm just thinking of something similar to Gradius. I can't remember the trick,but there was a way to get a powered up laser if a certain digits place had a certain number in it.
Tried to wait for different frame counts and what not. But I killed them with lasers.
I will try to use ripple and see if it changes.
i have tested the first arm w the basic weapon and get 1-4k. i will say your "game tick" theory raised my eye because when i get 4k from that first arm it....idk..."feels" good. like i knew i hit the honey hole or felt like the timing was the same as the last time i got 4k out of it....
You guys sure are putting in a lot of effort into this considering the game has a busted scoring system and easily exploitable point farming.
I think you're talking through your ass here man. The rules prevent any 'infinite' way to score by restricting the number of loops allowed and forbidding pression points in about the only spot in the game where you can farm forever. Naturally, not killing Zelo's heart = run is over.

I think ripple only gives you 1k.
Also I have gotten 2k for killing the arms with missiles. It doesn't happen often. Maybe 1 run out of 20-25?

all i got out of it (just me and the game) was it "feels" right when i get 4k from it. lol.
I am using the laser, and that can be screwing my results.
