Very interesting observation about Godzilla 2
So a certain member inquired about buying my MINTY Godzilla 2 and in looking at the picture I just realized something bizarre. Here's the picture:

Look at it and see if you notice. I'll give you a few moments.
So look at the poster, Godzilla 2 was apparently titled "Rodan" before it was released, then the the title was scrapped and changed to Godzilla 2. I'm willing to bet all of the posters for Godzilla 2 looked like this, but hey it's still pretty damn interesting if you ask me. Seems like a lot of posters were lost over the years so maybe these could be a bit hard to find. Either way, you proto guys better get on the hunt, maybe there's a "Rodan" cart out there after all

HAHA! Point noted.
Cool stuff, never seen that before. They must have screwed their heads on right and figured that the chances of a game selling off of the "Rodan" franchise was not a good business decision.
What does the little snippet under the Rodan picture say?
"Coming 1991! A giant flying reptile assaults the earth! Rodan, Godzilla's arch enemy! Now an exciting NES game!"
Damnit I want to be a reptilian bird now....
lol, nice.
Cool observation jone. minty stuff too.
You can never have too much "man in suit".
I would be willing to believe it was a totally separate game to begin with, that was just never released.

Exactly how much was changed when the title took a new name is not entirely known; however, the game shares very little in common with Godzilla Monster of Monsters (1989), beyond the cast of monsters.
did that poster come with godzilla 2? is it on wiz's list? we all know that it is damn near impossible to match up those things with what games they came with; however, i do agree with what has been said. it is most likely that this was its own game altogether.
edit: looks like we were wrong!
and, in jones pic, the first thing i noticed was the fact that the box and manual had different colors on them! damn, i need to stop looking for variants of everything! haha
Interestingly the sprites for Rodan exist in Godzilla: Monster of Monsters, as well as Anguilas, too bad they were never used.
