Back after 5 or 6 years
Hey guys, not sure if anyone will remember me but I thought I'd do an introductory post here because I hope to talk to some old friends and make some new ones too. My buddy, Stadl0r, who just joined today, started collecting retro VG stuff a little while ago and I kept referring him to NA because the expertise found here is unrivaled in my opinion. Plus, I can't think of a more enjoyable way to pass the time in this hobby when not playing the games we are so fond of. I used to have a lot of fun here too! I think I joined right around the time "purple ganon" got going and the "joel" thread was relatively young, though active as fug. I searched my username too and was reminded of the time when my dumbass mailed a game box to my buddy Rocky in Alaska and I accidentally included my paycheck too! That brought a smile to my face. Anyway, I'm here to stay and I hope to be an active member again if you'll have me!

Welcome back! The Hall of Shame is long gone though.
Damn, I cant help but feel responsible for that. It was a great resource but really demanding. I got a lot of hate from people trying to resolve those issues and it really took the fun out of being here but it was good knowing most people were pleased with it.

Were you living in Quebec back then too?
No, I wasn't. It's been a wild 6 years! I was living in Rochester, New York with my folks and had just dumped this awful girl I was dating. Without any kind of plan I moved to Los Angeles with two of my buddies. I met an incredible girl from Montreal out there and within a year we got married. Celebrating our 4 year anniversary this Saturday actually! We moved back to Rochester after being in LA for a couple years and last summer we moved to Montreal. I actually became a permanent resident two weeks ago! Couldn't be happier here

That's quite the adventure between the Northeast coast and the Southwest coast.
Congrats on your marriage with a Montrealer and the permanent residency. Is she mainly an English speaker of she speaks French as first language?

Thank you! French is her first language. We live in the Rosemont neighborhood where she grew up, and soon I'll be going to College de Rosemont to take French courses with other immigrants. It's been difficult trying to learn on my own, especially with all the contractions and unique vocabulary found in Quebec, but I'm going to make it happen. Are you in the Montreal area too?
