    - Great card battler, which is one of my favorite genres, so I'm biased. I do have the revision and I'm glad you picked it up because the glitch prevents you from finishing the game.

Is there a way to tell which releases/carts are the fixed version?

Easiest way to tell, the colored background is the original and the black & white version is the revision.

  • 3DS database is probably do for another round of updates. Anyone want to help me get a list of everything released in the last 6 months?

Also, there are many missing titles for DS that I work on here and there. I'd love some help identifying missing games there too

The DS has possibly the best library of games for any system period. The 3DS is a better handheld system, but the 3DS' library of games is not yet where the DS' library is.

i agree. and personally i also like how some games look really good on a HD emulator setup due to high res textures that normally doesnt show to its full potential due to resolusion limitations.

  • Would anyone happen to know what the deal is with Powerbike on the DS? I rarely see copies of it anywhere. I can't tell if it was bundled in with a bike of some sort, similarly to Cyberbike on the Wii, or if it is genuinely just a game that no one bought.

That thing is legit one of the worst racing sims I have ever played before.  The highlight of the game is when you hit something you fly just sort of fall off your bike in the fetal position.  Looks like there is a cart only for $13.99 if you want to punish yourself:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B001FEO74A/ref=sr_1_10_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1491703095&sr=8-10&keywords=power+bike+ds

  • While I am currently not a ds collector I must say this is the right time to buy them up. Prices are very low right now imo.
  • Not all infact id argue the its been missed. Games are pricy at retro stores, min $10 already and select titles like red riding hood is skyrocketing

The best time to buy was probably 2-3 years ago or earlier. Even cart only stuff now seems to start at $10 or more, whereas in the past, the same games could be found for $5 or less. There are of course still plenty of great DS games for great prices but some are really expensive, especially if you buy them complete or sealed. Look up solatorobo, or Shepherd's crossing 2
  • Did some digging in storage recently and found my DS stuff.  Here's an interesting bundle you don't see often.

  • DS prices have gone up for sure, not a ton, but the curve is definitely going upward. Getting games sealed or complete is becoming more expensive. Certain games are still very cheap, common ones like WarioWare, Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros, but others, especially Pokemon, are going to remain on the expensive side.
  • I casually collect DS games when I find something good worth playing.
  • I'm starting to put a stronger focus on DS collecting, and I've already got a great start. Really just need to get more RPGs and some of the more obscure titles, maybe 20-30 titles in all in my end-game collection list for the DS. I imagine my collection for it will cap off at around 130 titles unless I discover some other series' along the way that I want to check out.
  • Yeah I think I had identified 150-200 titles I'd be interested in owning. Probably up to another 50 if I really wanted to push it

Yeah I think I added another 7-8 titles just looking closely at your collection
  • I mainly collect for ds, can we talk about fighting fantasy? What's the deal with the book combo.. is that extremely rare? I can't find any info about it and I've only ever seen one on ebay and the guy was asking 150 I think

I know the game itself is pretty rare.  What is the book combo?  I know the game was based on the choose your own adventure books, but was there actually a variant that came with a book?

Yep, I hear you on that.

That's why I've been getting games for the DS almost exclusively for the past month.

really? I just sold a bunch of my DS games and was floored by how much they were worth. Most of them I bought at GameStop for 5 bucks years ago

I was thinking the same thing Bert. Prices are going up and up. Loose, CIB, sealed, it doesn't matter. At least for the popular and rarer games that is. The best time to buy DS games would've been a couple years ago. Not to say you can't still find stuff, but it's harder, especially with gamestop throwing out cases and manuals for DS games and catching onto the going rate for more niche games.

Here are just a few examples based on the spreadsheet I keep:

Dark Spire cart only (without the pro rewards bonus) was $9.99 at gamestop in 2015. It is currently $24.99

Dokapon Journey cart only (without the pro rewards bonus) was $6.99 at gamestop in 2015. It is currently $39.99

Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime cart only (without the pro rewards bonus) was $4.99 at gamestop in 2015. It is currently $14.99

Front Mission cart only (without the pro rewards bonus) was $4.99 at gamestop in 2015. It is currently $16.99

Game & Watch Collection cart only (without the pro rewards bonus) was $4.99 at gamestop in 2016. It is currently $14.99

Retro Game Challenge cart only (without the pro rewards bonus) was $4.99 at gamestop in 2015. It is currently $24.99

Summon Night: Twin Age cart only (without the pro rewards bonus) was $1.99 at gamestop in 2016. It is currently $14.99

  • Came across a fun little game i had never heard of so i figured i'd share. The Wild West! Anybody ever play it? Has some Gum Smoke like gameplay but you use your stylus to shoot. Looks like theres other gameplay elements but havent got too far into it yet since it just showed up today. You play as a cowboy wolf though which is pretty sweet!   Seems pretty generic but still pretty cool! I wonder if anyone has ever played this with 16 players, lol, laughed when i saw that.

Picked up this and Underwater Attack which i hadnt heard of either. Seems to be the same game as Ocean Commander on Wii though. A little submarine shoot em up.

    Some pics of Wild West:

  • Funny, I don't think the DS Collector app even has that one

Hmm, interesting. Seems a little obscure, only a few copies on the bay. Not too expensive though. I went through a complete ds list and made a list of games i still wanna get. Some i'd never heard of like this and Underwater Attack so i scooped up those first since i like little shooting games like this.

Seems to have got bad reviews when it came out but whateva!
