Verifying Caltron 6 in 1?

This thread here states there are fewer than 100 copies and only 2 known completes. Yet I see these pop up all the time on ebay in the 300-500 range. Are these all fakes or reproductions?

For example is a sealed being offered for BIN 659...

I see mention of serial numbers, but it appears these are on the cartridge? Seems like people are just resealing knockoff's and hoping people wont open to check?

  • It's the Myriad variant that has 100 or fewer copies known.

    Caltron:

    Myriad (serial 000801)

Caltrons are uncommon, but are way more numerous than 100.

He must have missed the letter....

  • There were cases of these found down there in Mexico. They are legit but even know they're sealed expect the condition could be somewhat questionable. I opened two sealed copies of both of them had some moisture damage.

And yes less the 100 are the Mytaids. There's definitely more than 2 complete copies though. I have a complete copy and I've seen a complete copy probably show up about once a year on eBay
  • That's not too bad for one with a label imperfection (the sold one).

Yeah, as daillest said, there was like a pallet of sealed Caltrons found several years back that just demolished the value of the Caltron version.

See my response above for a CIB on ebay right now. Being a owner, what do you think its worth?

  • I haven't really been following this for a while but $400 for a sealed copy a couple years ago? I do think the one listed is authentic.
  • To verify a Myriad you can just get some Goo Gone to peel off the sticker and make sure a Caltron is under there.
  • Game value now has it at $437 average sale price. This is one of those games that are sealed copy doesn't really go for much more than a complete copy as there are so many sealed copies out there
